I don't think you need the double quotes. The part where Ali is commenting on the past... sure, but not quoting the whole section, it's assumed it's from him.
This is 2010 and now too few people know about The Greatest and his impact in the game and, moreso, throughout society.
Subject: Just fine Quote and substance: Excellent Colors: shite Spaceing: shite I understand the look you are going for, but I would use more harsh and contrasting colors, and definitely not red white and blue.... You could even use blacks and grey scales, and as lon as the contrasting is right, you will get the look you're going for.
The quote is the only thing I don't hate about it. The photo is barely recognisable as Ali. When you read the text you say "Oh, that's Ali. What a **** photo." It looks like his eyes are bugging out and pointing in different directions like a pug dog. Don't get me started on his mouth - he looks like a ****** about to drool. If you are gonna pixelate like crazy, then make the original subject matter clearer. Pixelating makes the image more ambiguous, so you must start with a less ambiguous image. Things like the amateur protective headgear make it harder to recognise who it is, so lose it. If you are thinking "This poster is about training, he has to have the headgear on" then rethink your whole design approach. The colours make me want to lose my lunch. If you have photoshop then use the swatches - but if the end product still sucks then start again. The spacing is awful. Spacing is meant to flow, to draw the eye naturally. Your spacing is random. Try to think of things such as the rule of thirds, fibonacci, or even using elements of the photo you incorporate - for example, making elements parallel to the eyes, or other natural lines in the photo. But if it doesn't work, then throw it out. You may have been trying to apply the rule of thirds, but it just doesn't work for that layout. The font is bad. Give "Courier" a go, it matches the style much better. Don't use double quotes within double quotes. Change the design for the wording of "THE GREATEST MUHUMMAD ALI" It lacks impact, emphasis and comes through monotone and unnatural. Compare these: THE GREATEST MUHUMMAD ALI The GREATEST - Muhummad Ali The greatest - Muhummad Ali "The Greatest" Muhummad Ali Muhummad Ali; The Greatest On the poster you can change font size, positioning, font, italics, bold, colour, whatever.
The picture is off. Ali is unrecognizable. Balance of elements is off. Why aren't you centering the title? What's with the flat color choices? Change it.
