Judging on his last few performance, is he finished? Does he have another big payday in him?

Yes. Canelo completely zapped his confidence when he slipped all those punches. Its time for him to fight Christian Mbili

Yes. Will be just another name on soeone's resume now. Hopefully he has enough money in the bank to call it a day.

Probably, you could start to see him slipping in the Chavez Jr fight, and it has gotten worse since then. He seems to have trouble letting his hands go now.

Punches that he could take before , he no longer can. Time to hang it up while still healthy

I don't think that Jacobs will ever be champion again but in this era of a thousand titles and B class fighters running wild, he might stand a chance.

He's been declining, but he was never all that to begin with. A plain B fighter if ever I saw one, don't let the handspeed and switch-hitting fool you.

Neither Clen nor Golovkin could easily beat him. Both were 7-5 fights.

I don't disagree that he ran them both close (ran Golovkin closer in my estimation, whereas Canelo looked a clear cut above until his middle rounds sag kicked in). Maybe that should help confirm something about those two guys, too — very good fighters standing out in a weak era, but not the greats that the advertising would have us believe.

When you take off nostalgia laden glasses most eras look weak. ATGs are always rare.
Golovkin knocked him down so the result was only going to swing one way. As for Canelo, DJ did his dumb switching that lost him a round or so. Could have made it even closer.

Nostalgia never held any appeal for me.

Knockdown was the difference on my scorecard, as I recall.

TBH other than the late 80s and mid 90s you could call most MW era weak. Hagler fought in a weak era and so did Monzon.

Daniel Geale and Darren Barker aren't claiming world honors in those eras.
