seems like fedor was right all along...why bother and sign with the ufc ? Their champ happens to be Nogueira... Take a look at this card !! http://www.mmahq.com/2008/05/12/andre-arlovski-vs-ben-rothwell-at-affliction-banned/ Fedor Emelianenko vs Tim Sylvia Josh Barnett vs Pedro Rizzo Ben Rothwell vs Andre Arlovski Aleksander Emelianenko vs Paul Buentello Matt Lindland vs Fabio Negao Renato Sobral vs Mike Whitehead Savant Young vs Mark Hominick Brett Cooper vs Mike Pyle Ray Lamaza vs Justin Levens JJ Ambrose vs Patrick Speight
right now i'm extremely hyped for affliction and dreams' cards.. ufc's good too but , FINALLY...there's other real and solid choices out there..
UFC these days is too few and far between. The momentum is garbage. At least with PRIDE we had mega events and deep cards to look forward too. Now we get a half decent/decent card in between a pile of crap and then TUF. Iv basically lost interest.
Pride ? haha aka dream no ?...I think with more time , this org has the potential to be # 1...(or it can fail miserably) , but right now , i'm personally satisfied with it...They just need more events , and try to bring back bigger names too (in the HW division & lhw division)... but man , that affliction card is just ****ing awesome! i don't care if this org only lasts a single night and goes bankrupt after that...as long as it's happening!....it's all that matters...I just wanna see solid match ups , especially outside of ufc's format. I'm happy for Nogueira in a way , at least he finally realised his dream...(fedor was a cancer in his career back in pride's golden era)
Whoa! that is one hell of a fight card with potential for highlight reel ko in most fights. Nice one Affliction
That card looks kick___. Damn- who knows, maybe the UFC has some competition! Obviously UFC is going to be the big dog for a while, with advertising taking the country (and world) by storm, the SpikeTV/WCIU shows, and the stellar sell out events and PPV's. But right now some very good organizations are coming out of the underground- StrikeForce is looking fine so far, and EliteXC is gaining popularity on Showtime (especially in California). But hey- the next UFC card is STACKED, too (Penn-Sherk being the main event). But again, I'm surprised seeing these names on a little known organization. Guess it proves that it can be done, taking on the UFC. Can't wait for this card!
OH MY GOD what a card! I'm ordering it! Thanks for the info. This was not a typo was it? This seems too good to be true.
UFC 82 had people like Arlovski,Sanchez and Koscheck on its ****ing prelims. This card has nothing on that UFC card.
I'm not going to lie...the first four fights on that card give me a hard on. Arvloski/Rothwell...how awesome is that? For anyone wondering how Big Ben would fair against better competition, this is it. And Buentello vs. A. Emel should be a slug fest.
If you look at the posters who wrote that you will notice they tend to have a bit of bias against anything the UFC does so I take it with a grain of salt when they post.I'm still not sure I believe the AA-Rothwell fight is confirmed....non the less it is a very good card.
Yeah I know Scur and Boxingcar have some sort of beef with the UFC and **** on them for everything they do.
