  1. He participated in one fo the best domestic fights ive ever seen, he rocked mitchell a few times, what happened to him, he just left the scene, anybody know anything?

He was planning to move up to lightweight. He had a bout arranged and it was postponed. He's a very subdued character and had alot of hardships and likes a drink from what i've read on here. He's got a lot to deal with outside of the ring and i think boxing isn't on the list of his priorities and wouldn't be shocked if he has already gave up.

  4. i heard he likes a drink or 3, and likes to play the big i am, but the guy was a british champ, he could have earned a few quid before retiring, anyway thanks for the reply:good

Carl had real talent. He was such a good, short puncher.

He didn't like to play the big I am at all..... you are wrong there.

However he does like the amber nectar - I have first hand experience.

  8. What i mean by playing the big i am is, going out and enjoying the spotlight and playing charlie big bollocks to lasses. Mate i have so much admiration for his skills and power, such a shame to lose a talent. to be fair mitchell hasn't exactly set the world alight since.

    Wrong again!

All he does is stand there with his smirky little grin eyeing them all up, laughing with his mates.

He doesn't go out of his way to speak to people..... he was shocked that me and my mate recognisd him - even more so when we knew that his uncle was Albert Johanneson (the first black player ever to play in the top division in English football).

  10. Im quoting info i got from a lad i knock about with who goes out with a bir dfrom leeds and saw johannsen bragging about being best of britain and playing charlie big bollocks, if not true then i apologise but im just quoting somebody who saw him... all im saying is hes a real talent and its a shame if he prefers lifestyle over career. anyway all agreed he needs to come back.

It might be.... just saying that on the handful of occasions I have seen him he has always been fine. IMO it will have been some of the hangers on, a few (about 25%) of his mates seemed like dicks when we were talking to him.

Not sure he lives the extravagant lifestyle so much though..... he has his Leeds season ticket and goes out partying, but lives on one of the roughest estates in Yorkshire.

Got a right tip off him as well...... Gomez to drop Khan and win by stoppage late - the first half was great... a younger Gomez would have finished him IMO.

heard the Mitchell fight was his biggest pay day and he was only on 30k for that. hopefully he will be ok.

  13. of course he would have, to be honest i think its a crying shame khan and mitchell will never get it on, i was hoping that mitchell would move up to lightweight and meet khan at lightweight, wont happen now tho cos khan at light welter, real shame it is, anyway mate thanks for the info bout johannsen, seems less of a **** now. mandana told me that johansenn got robbed by a mate or summat and lost heart in boxing. read my convo for more info.

Yeah I know the story as well.

That is the reason why I believe every fighter should manage themselves.

That is a sad story if true, first I've heard of it. :-(

Unfortunately the only fight I've seen of Carl's is that loss to Mitchell although from what I hear he had some great fights, hope he enjoys his retirement and finds a worthwhile job to get him by. :good
