Floyd is a great fighter. One of the best of all time. I don't think anyone can deny that. I give Floyd a lot of **** for not fighting Pacquaio, but that's because he disrespected the man, his family, his people, his country, and hurt his earning potential with unsubstantiated allegations. He also turned people against him, and created racial tension that was not there before Floyd decided to go that route to belittle the man. It's a real shame, and Floyd can't get the credit he may deserve until he fights Pacquaio. It's gone on long enough. Anyway... Here is the list: Henry Armstrong: Henry Armstrong is kryptonite for Floyd. He is defensively savy, but offensive. He would make Floyd fight his fight all night and stick to him like glue. He would counter punch Floyd and beat the hell out of his body and win a brutalize Floyd to a decision victory. Roberto Duran: I Duran would win a very close decision, but his strength, and viscious style, like Armstrong's would lead him to a decision victory. Chavez Sr: Chavez did what I thought Canelo would do, but Canelo just doesn't have the footspeed and defensive ability to duck and slide his way in there. This would be a very tentative fight because Chavez right hand is so precise, but I think Chavez would deliver some pain and possibly knock Mayweather down in the process. Close fight though. Leonard: I think Leonard would lose some rounds initially then start getting offensive, and eventually catch Floyd with some serious shots and possibly stop him. His speed and power and determination would be the deciding factor. Obviously Ray Robinson, but that doesn't need to be said. Crazy enough, I give Floyd a great chance at beating Hearns. Floyd is very hard to box and I think he could give Hearns a lot of problems. It would be a very close fight.
There is only one man who could beat Floyd Joy Sinclair Mayweather Jr at 147: http://pbs.twimg.com/media/BCCyJ44CIAAYwMB.jpg
Hearns out boxed Leonard both times they fought. He just got caught late in the first fight and got KO'd, but he had a significant lead at the time. Hearns would be favoured over Floyd. As would Duran. If he thought Maidana was rough, he would really not have enjoyed dealing with the hands of stone. Other than that, your list looks fine.
You give floyd a shot at beating Hearns? atsch Old oscar took him with a job, and even maidana lands right hands on this guy. Hearns ends him quickly and brutally. KO4. Today, Pacquiao, bradley, porter, khan, and thurman take him. Canelo at 154 KO's him also.
bradley, porter, khan, thurman.....man you guys add new guys to the list every month or so...of guys floyd has to/needs to fight to prove himself....lol...ya canelo at 154 ko's floyd....and cotto at 147 ko's pacquiao....lol
Good list. I agree on Leonard. But not stopping him though. I don't think Armstrong would make him fight his fight, but agree he would possibly beat him. Duran and Chavez though I disagree with. Both showed the ability to be outboxed. See Chavez vs Taylor I, Duran vs Leonard 2. But I think they would be great fights though.
Gennady Gennadovich Golovkin - WBA Middleweight Champion (160) Undefeated, outweighs Mayweather by about 13 pounds Erislandy Lara - WBA Regular Light Middleweight Champion (154) Draws to Molina (IBF) and Matiroysan. Best fighter within a reasonable weight class that has a chance to beat Floyd. Fighting Canelo next Ruslan Provodnikov - WBO Light Welterweight Champion Losses to Timothy Bradley and Mauricio Herrera, Big puncher but biggest win is Mike Alvarado Marcos Maidana - Former WBA Lightwelterweight champion Lost to Mayweather fairly (minus the glove situation) I scored the bout 115-113 Mayweather despite routing for Maidana and would love to see a rematch in September. Mayweather should choose to box this time around instead of trying to slug it out -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Possible next opponents for Floyd September 2014 - Marcos Maidana 2 May 2015 - Amir Khan / Erislandy Lara September 2015 - Manny Pacquiao?
