Who are some boxers who had talent, but were pushed too fast/managed wrong, and had premature declines because of it?

Fernando Vargas and Benitez are the two that come to mind for me.

    Pete Radamacher
    Paul Gonzales

Rico Ramos is the quintessential gold standard in recent years of a guy who won a title too early, fell apart from his success.

going against the grain a little but just how rushed was Vargas he beat everybody else and Trinidad was the next logical step and he even held his own

also he did give his all vs De La Hoya not much later down the road

Marvis Frazier for me falls right in this category

Francisco Bojado. He had 21 fights in a little over 6 years with 18 wins and 3 losses and hasn't fought since 07 after losing to Steve Forbes.

Leon Spinks is one I grapple with because its hard to tell when he would eventually succumb to the drugs and also he did beat Ali

I figure if he hadnt hurried to old Ali he would never get the title because Holmes and Tyson were soon to follow

unless there is evidence that Spinks could avoid the drugs and develop as a pro

currently guys like Ortiz, Khan seem to be following that pattern, neither of them will reach the age of 30 - they don't have that long left

Good call on Frazier. He got a lot of shots just because he was Smokin' Joe's son.

Jorge "Pantera" Silva. He's young as hell and showed talent in drawing with the undefeated Yoshihiro Kamegai. Instead of nurturing his boxing skills, they fed that foo to Alfredo Angulo. I don't know if he's fizzled out yet, but it's obvious that this guy is not being protected.

I was going to say Moore but I checked his record and it wasn't quite as packed early on as I thought.

He got a shot Benitez after Duran but if you take Cholo as a single defining fight then yes.
