forgot kermit cintron, dude had not even been boxing long and they put him in with an assassin such as margarito, dude was never the same. Cintron could have been huge if he had been managed well.

    Meldrick Taylor and Leon Spinks.

  5. i disagree. i actually like the way their careers were managed. their respective flaws make it impossible for them to be successful. ortiz has no heart and khan has no chin. the fact that they have a combined iq of 54 makes matter worse for these two. it's dumb and dumber, the boxing version.

This is a great shout out... and he got pummeled once, yet they threw him right back in to get beaten up a second time by Margarito...

He was never the same after that. He was a huge welterweight, and could punch like a mule, who knows what he could have been.

Benitez is a tragic case, one of the most gifted and elusive boxers EVER, yet was shot to **** at only 24 years old... this was a guy fighting Cervantes at only 17 years old, when his brain wasn't even finished developing... He had been been forced to box by this father since he was 4 years old, and was taking punches when he should have never been... now he is punch drunk to the point of being mentally ******ed, he doesn't even know where he lives :(

Cintron was the IBF champ and had been working with Steward and seemed to have matured and made adjustments

the rematch made a lot of sense and top fighters avenge losses, the matchmaking wasnt a mistake, Cintron just failed to deliver

I still feel the Margarito rematch was too quick, he took a serious beating in the first match, and his defense hadn't improved at all yet by the time of the second match. He took another horrible beating in the second fight, after the beating he already got in the first match, and was never the same. It was too early to feed him to Margarito IMO, although you've made a completely valid point, and I'm sure plenty would agree with your assertion. Possibly I'm incorrect on the rematch, but the first time was definitely too early IMO.

They did not fight anything special for their first losses.

By the time Khan got knocked out by Prescott, he had already suffered 3 knock downs against journeymen Rachid Drizlane, Willie Limond, and Michael Gomez. He was not pushed fast at all, he's just so chinny that it may appear as if he was pushed too fast. Figthing Prescott when he did, another prospect, was pretty appropriate. It's not like he faced this highly experienced veteran with good wins under his belt.

Ortiz was knocking every body either down or out. After he made easy work of Arnautis every one was asking for him to step up and fight a name. No one really gave Maidana a chance, every one just saw him as an Argentinian puncher with a blown up record, bunch of KO's over journeymen.

Ortiz didn't really fight an experienced, dangerous puncher until he fought Andre Berto.

I think Cintron lacked hear more than anything. He really didn't get a beating either time. He had crap defense and didn't like getting hit, like Ortiz.
