Simple as the title says. Guys like Gatti, Little Red, Chico and Pacquiao are gonna be mentioned a lot so I figured why not lump em in now. As harsh as this sounds, no people who died in the ring. All respect to those tragic warriors, but this thread isn't about those. What say you??
Micky Ward. Just took beatings to earn a living, ate punches so he could throw his liver shot.. Get phantom pains thinking about that guys career.
Lamon Brewster comes to mind. He went 10 rounds with The Black Rhino with multiple injuries, got up from one of the most lethal punching HWs of all time to KO him in the next round, came from behind vs Luan Krasniqi to get a KO whilst down on all cards and went 12 rounds of war with Liakhovic whilst blind in one eye. Guy definitely had too much heart for his own good. Oh and... Ezzard Charles.
Mike Alvarado even when the guy tried to box he would always end up in a grueling slug fest. He also didn’t mind fight different styles.. For a two year period he fought Mauricio Herrera, Brandon Rios x 3, Juan Manuel Marquez and Ruslan Provodnikov.. In today’s climate guys aren’t willingly lining up to fight awkward counter punchers and smothering volume punchers in consecutive fights..
Shannon Briggs. The fights against Lewis and Vitali were just beat downs, and he just kept going for it.
While Akira Yaegashi is an absolute madman, and has taken some serious beatings, my vote still goes to Nihito Arakawa. That dude knows only one gear. Yaegashi just loves the challange and keeps biting off more than he can chew. Arakawa just seems to blindly walk into the fire. Two absolute beasts.
