Head gear does not protect you from beeing KTFO. It mostly protects against cuts, which is essential when you need to fight a different guy every day in a tournament.

    Good post,amsterdam!
According to his management Povetkin had caught a flue a few days before he entered the ring to determine Wlad's mandatory challenger.
Povetkin's peformance against Chambers was surely not one of his most impressive and convincing ones in his pro career, but he got the job done winning 9 or 10 out of 12 rounds. His fight with Chambers was pure fun to watch(I watched it live, and I really enjoyed it) and very entertaining.
5,000,000 people watched his fight on German tv.He isnt a household name in Germany yet-let alone in the USA-but he is on the way to bigger stardom.
His leaky defense is weak spot.No doubt about it.He didnt look that good when he had to take Chambers' telling counterpunches.Nevertheless he won almost all rounds and all in all clearly dominated the fight.
Funny that all of a sudden most fight fans have lost faith in him giving him no chance against Wlad or any other good heavy weight.
A lot of people tend to forget that Povetkin was one of the most dominating amateur heavies of all times.Sam Peter and Calvin Brook couldnt kiss his shadow at the amateurs. They were no matches for him then.
I am quite positive that Povetkin is the most dangerous foe out there for Wlad at present.

Povetkin is a good fighter(I liked his body punches and feigns) but showed that he has a lot of things to work on(head movement, jab, right cross, conditioning) Chambers was more open for a straight right between the gloves but Povetkin didn't recognize it and kept coming with wide punches. He also did the same things all night long(didn't use angles, or vary his punches) and most of the time he kept pulling out straight back. When he had Chambers backed up, he threw a few punches and backed off, why? Maskaev has superior experience to Povetkin and can take him out if he fights like he fought Chambers. Arreola is a good, tough prospect but I don't think he is on Povetkin's level yet therefore Povetkin by UD. Povetkin is not ready for a title yet and has plenty of time to improve, it is as simple as that, so get off it.
