I remember saying that about Riddick Bowe, Lennox Lewis and Michael Moorer when they were up and coming heavyweights. I remeber saying it about Toney the first time that I saw him fight. I think it was for a Michigan title.

ive got a great story about a non-boxing major sportsman who i said to his face was going to be world champion before anyone really knew him.

its not boxing though so unless someone 'bumps' this post i'll let it go....

    Amir Khan comes to mind.

After his first defeat European betting site offered 6.15 odds to him win a world title in his career. I figured he would win some bogus title during he’s career so I put 50€ in that bet.

    Juan Manuel Lopez

There aren't too many of them for me, simply because I didn't start following the prospects closely until the last few years, but the first time I saw Lopez I knew he was destined for greatness. Same for Gamboa. Heck, search through the site history here and you'll see that I was on the Gamboa bandwagon back when JayCuban was the only other guy pimping him. Two others I've been saying the same about since they turned pro are Danny Jacobs and Vanes Martirosyan.

I saw Cotto's pro debut and right there I knew he would be a champ
