The challenger gets the belt(i.e Corrales vs. Casamayor). The Champ is stripped if he comes in overweight and wins.

Floyd Mayweeather Sr. the self-proclaimed world's best trainer blames Guzman's nutrionist and strength coach for his failure to make weight. Apparently a boxer's trainer holds no responsibility in this area.:patsch

Yeah...? He doesn't. That's why these guys have a team, Floyd is the boxing coach, you know to teach him the art of boxing, to come up with a gameplan etc. He needs to devote his time to that rather than worry about what his boy ate for lunch, that's the whole reason why they bring in an expert for nutrition and strength.

but often its the trainers job to tell the nutritionist what weight he wants his fighter at and at what date during the training camp. Its part of the fight strategy. Many trainers keep a close eye on their fighter's weight

i think it should be an SOP to put a weighing scale in the gym and weigh the boxer everyday. that's not hard to do.

That's what they get for hiring an "expert". ****er should've just stayed at the Holiday Inn Express last night.

Come on. a trainer is in charge of the training camp which includes his
nutrionist and strenght coach. It doesn't take much effort for a trainer (in this case Mayweather) to keep an eye on his weight situation.

Maybe Guzman needs Roger Bloodworth as his trainer. He is even cooked during camp for Casamayor. I guess he found the time to make sure he made weight.

Just the opposite. Nate is beyond pissed off. Nate knows that now even after he ko's this fool, everyone will use the weight issue to discredit Nate's win.
