Ok here is my £0.02's worth.

I like Alex Arthur, he seems a knowledgable enough chap and he is definately skilled.
I don't like Guzman, I would liken his character to that of Mayweather/Froch/Witter/Malignaggi. He talks trash all the time and shows little or no respect to his opponents.

However I feel that Arthur is badly overmatched here.
I hope I am wrong but I see a UD or possibly a late stoppage in Guzmans favour.

Sorry Dunky, but all power to you for sticking up for 'yer man'.

Sadly I don't know if this fight will ever happen as I think the styles match up will make it a great fight. I hope they sort it out soon.

    Peace.

I've watched all of Arthurs fight's and all of Guzmans since i first saw him on the Calzaghe vs Jimenez undercard so i can safely say that Arthur is as good as dead!

Dunky knows it too but he'll banter on till the end for the Scots. :D

Banter my arse. I watch Guzman & simply dont see the superman all of you do. All I see when I watch Guzman is a faster version of Chris Eubank.
Iron chin, Great handspeed & counters well, but has shocking stamina & has to take regular breathers. & thats where the showboating comes in. Whilst hes running to catch his breath, he pulls faces & mugs for the cameras. & this showboating fools judges & punters alike. Its a nice wee trick from Guzman to fool the judges & the punters b& judges. Just like Eubank used to do. Fight for a minute a round, get on your bike & showboat & steal the round.

Guzman is no Mayweather, in fact hes no P4P fighter either. He doesnt even have the physical attributes to trouble a big natural super-feather in Alex Arthur, in fact the Guzman hype is so out of control here I cant help but smirk. Its going to make me look like a right smart arse here when Arthur pulls of an upset win, I cant wait.

Dont say you havent been warned though, cos I have been telling people here for years that Guzman isnt all that. You keep backing the fat super-bantam. Just dont come crying to me when Arthur does him in 7 rounds.

Thats the difference in our attitudes though. You kid yourself, whilst I cast a cold analytical eye on a fight. & it just so happens that I think Arthur has the tools to pull of the upset.

Although it wont be an upset in my eyes, cos Guzman is vastly overrated, & Arthur is criminally underrated by most.

Sports Network are supposed to be making an announcement on the new date after Bank holiday Monday my man, so that sounds promising.

So who are you going to cheer on if you dont mind me asking? arthur or Guzman? & if its Guzman dont worry I wont moan, cos it seems every man & his dog are cheering against Arthur for this one. Im used to it now!

well i stated on another thread that i hope arthur knocks him spark out,but i can't see it.i've begrudgingly came round to recognizing guzman's skills.i just don't like the way he belittles his opponents when in the ring, and i think that clouded my view of him.maybe he isn't as good as some of the huggers think but he is better than alex arthur.although he hasn't took his power with him to the higher weight i think he stops arthur between 8 and 12.however this is one call i hope i get very wrong!

:rofl :rofl That's exactly why AAA is gonna lose. Imagine how good Eubank would have been with more speed. When I see AAA I see a slower version of Richie Woodhall.

This is the only one I can bothered bothered to find.

According to CompuBox statistics, Guzman landed 247 of 682 punches (36 percent) and Barrios connected on 210 of 844 blows (25 percent).

Guzman 57 per round, of which 20 land
Barrios 70 per round, of which 17 land.

He hardly goes hell for leather now does he.
