Ok guys, Mr Warren is a business man, hes got Arthur the belt, now think about it, does he need Arthur??? Who can he make more cash off?? Arthur cant sell ou Meadowbank, Khan on the other hand is a moneyspinner, who would he rather get rid of, not Khan anyway, he can put him on any card against any qaulity fighter and it will sell out. Does anybody know the mandatory for Arthur??
If he defends against Mitchell, i would accept his FWO belt!!! Until then its a joke, Best of luck to him but i dont rate paper champs!!! Defend against a mitchell !!!!!
Whether Arthur remains at Super Featherweight or moves up he really does need to get a move on. Only fought twice last year and hasn't fought at all during 2008. We talk about him on here more than he actually fights!
To be honest his performance against Foster last time out cast a big question mark over Arthur for me. Considering some of Arthur's pre-fight talk & claims he struggled with a domestic level fighter - no disrespect to Foster who came out of that contest with some deserved credit.
With the Foster fight think there may have also been a touch of complacency on Arthur's part - he had home advantage, Foster was coming up in weight, etc. He seemed to under estimate him and it could have cost Arthur dearly - especially in the 11th round. All that talk would have come back to haunt him then! Did make me wonder how he would fare against a truly world class opponent if he couldn't deal with a gritty featherweight like Foster more effectively. I do hope in his next bout he proves himself to be worthy of the WBO full champ status.
i see this as actually working in favor of both fighters. Guzman can face the better known opposition a few pounds north and arthur can solidify his position at his current weight. not good for boxing fans but good for the boxers themselves.
True, for Guzman it is a good move. aAthough I dont think Arthur will be able to hold on to the strap for long at all. He couldn't even handle Steve Foster Jnr.
