he looked good in the fight against funeka. he wasn't as quick and didn't put the combinations together but he looked as if he had the power that he had in his days at 122 and 126.

at 140 there are big fights for him and this is how i see it

guzman vs maidana - guzman ud, guzman has an excellent chin and if he was ever going to quit in a fight then it would have been in the first funeka fight. maidana doesn't have a great chin and can be outboxed, he throws his punches wildly and if guzman sticks to a gameplan he can beat him.

guzman vs JMM - this would be a close fight, marquez is an excellent counterpuncher and so is guzman. this could be a split decision either way.

guzman vs juan diaz - Guzman KO - diaz looks ordinary in his fights now, after campbell he doesn't look like the same fighter. i think guzman would do a similar job like what marquez did.

guzman vs morrales - guzman ud - i think morrales is a great warrior but stylistically guzman would be a bad fight for morrales. morrales needs to fight someone who is willing to stand toe-toe and trade with him.

guzman vs judah - Guzman KO - judah looks washed up, he can't get a fight against anyone, this would be a top fight but I think guzman beats him by late KO.

guzman vs urango - Guzman UD - urango is flat footed and easy to hit, Guzman would just box him silly.

i don't think the likes of alexander, bradley and khan are good fights for guzman because he needs to get comfortable and the weight and build up a resume. I hope he gets another fight quick rather than taking 6 months of again.

How does Guzman the fat ****, go from having his first fight at 135 on the 20th of December 2008, to coming in at 144 pounds.

Either the most blatant cheat of all time, or he has lost the plot and is done.

the last 4 matchups you listed are pretty bad fights. None of those guys can compete with the Guzman we saw on Saturday. I'm interested in the Maidana fight but much more interested in an Alexander fight.

The guy always had a problem making weight because he likes to eat too much. Fighting at the higher weights will suit him well.

guzman clearly didnt even try making weight. he knew that he needed this win or his career was pretty much over. i was extremely impressed with guzmans performance but lets not kid ourselves.. joan didnt have to kill himself to make weight and it showed not only physically but he was also able to absorb funekas shots a whole lot better.

theres no doubt that it was a punkass move by guzman but the right move for HIM. in a straight up fight funeka spanks guzman 10/10 times.. and its truely a testiment to how 'fresher' a fighter can perform not having to cut weight and come in comfortably kinda like pacquiao.

i still see joan as a threat to anyone at 135-140. thats if he chooses to make weight..

He may be able to beat everyone at 140. I don't see any guys that pose the same stylistic problems that Funeka did for him at 135.

Although Guzman didn't have the same problem because he came in as a damn welterweight.

His only problem at the higher weights is his lack of power.

I've came to the conclusion...**** Guzman, I can understand one time for not making weight (even though its not excusable) but with this second stunt, coming in 9 lbs over...He didnt even try to make weight IMO...He then go on to beat a man that has worked hard and was suppose the champ given how he beat Guzman the first time around.

I hope he gets his ass whipped...I'm sorry Guzman fans, but Guzman really is ****ing **** up IMO!:-(

i hear you Rudyard. i was bashing guzman till now but we cant deny the fact that he's not only talented but a major threat in the game. trust me man, it was definitley a punkass move but you cant say that guzman-juan diaz wouldnt be crazy... im just saying.

Diaz lost to Paulie Malignaggi ffs, if Guzman can't beat Diaz he should retire. Seriously, Guzman is a non-entity. He's a joke. He fights once a year, it's 50/50 whether he will make weight, and he struggles with anyone above B- level in terms of ability. He's not as good as his nut-hugging fans have made out over the years.

i agree to a certain extent. the nutthuggers will be nutthuggers reguardless of who theyre fighter is. now guzman hasnt had the opportunity to fight the top guys so how can u knock him? no doubt he ****ed nate campbell over and that i can never forgive him for but reguardless of that guzman is a good & entertaining fighter whom will not only give anyone at 135-140 a fight but fans such as myself wanna see..

by the way, who the **** are you to **** on diaz & paulie, SERIOUSLY. you trashing world class fighters man and that aint right.

Thats what got me thinking...He didnt even attempt to make weight IMO, 2 whopping divisions...As Chris Carter would say " Come on Man":rofl
Maybe I did go a little overboard...I was pissed off at him for the Nate Campbell ordeal and now this...I've been trying to give him the benefit of the doubt for the Nate Campbell fight but know this...It really made me hot homie...I cant even lie to you! I've tried but I just cant do it...Thats why I say **** him now.

I agree, but he still may be able to beat everybody at that weight.

Guys that would give him problems are Peterson and Bradley.

I suppose you could throw in Marquez, but honestly, I think Guzman would win very convincingly.

A focused Guzman would beat anybody at 140 easily.

He is talented indeed but he needs a legit spanking from promoters.

What if Rush Hour did not accept it and backed down from that fight, and with valid reason?

Guzman's ****in' ass will be nowhere, and I am sure no promoters in their right mind will still give him a chance.

The ******* should thank Funeka, after all.
