Since this isn't a title fight because Guzman didn't make weight; does the fight go from 12 rounds to 10?

A title fight have to be a twelve rounder but a twelve rounder doesn't have to be a title fight.

    Exactly.

Why do people assume that all non-title fights have to be 10 rounds are less.

Whether a title's involved or not, the top fighters always fight 12 rounds.

They wouldn't be able to change the number of rounds so quickly anyway, we only found out yesterday that it wasn't a title fight.

Its really confusing, in the Quartey/Forrest fight the promoters tried to make some bull**** trinket or have one of the vacant titles on the line for that purpose, the sanctions refused and the fight became a 10 rounder.
