But Bika is so awkward and physically strong, he can put on real heat, just ask Manfredo. Calzaghe's win wasn't exactly walk in the park either. Luckily for Balzsay, he has a decent punch combined with technical skills, otherwise Bika would just walk through him and chop him down. Close call, very interesting clash of styles, hopefully gets made.

The December 5 Showtime card sounds ****ing beautiful. :happy

Manfredo? You dont honestly want me to think he is anything other than a lower grade bum who should be fighting at LMW or MW not SMW!

Balzsay could easily just out box bike of the outside for 12 rounds if he wanted to.

Whatever level Manfredo's at, others like Lacy (close fight) or Calzaghe (premature stoppage) couldn't beat the **** out of him the way Bika did. He just chopped him down. Don't underestimate physical abilities, and Bika has planty of those.

Bika-Balsay on the Bute-Andrade card will give us a superb boxing night. Before Universum difficulties (they're about to lose Sturm and more important their TV contract) that fight wouldn't have been possible. Universum would have protected Balsay in Europe until the end of his career. Now, they have to make a move. Good for us. That would also open a door for a fight between the winner of Bute-Andrade and Bika-Balsay, before facing Kelly Pavlik. That's not a tournament but that's not far from it. The winner of all these fights would have a good chance of facing the winner of the supersix. Is that HBO reply to Showtime?

    Good call.

Looks like a lot has changed since I made this thread three weeks ago.

Obviously, Balzsay vs. Bika isn't happening since Balzsay was stopped by Robert Stieglitz.

According to Steve Kim, Showtime's December 5th broadcast is likely to be headlined by Timothy Bradley against Lamont Peterson with Joan Guzman vs. Ali Funeka in the co-feature taking place in California. Though there had been some talk of Showtime pairing Bradley vs. Peterson with tape delayed footage of Marco Huck vs. Ola Ofalabi, which takes place the same day.

He also mentioned that Agbeko vs. Perez would headline a Showtime card on October 31st.

Good to see Showtime still having a pretty decent schedule outside of the Super Six.

    Another update from Steve Kim....

    --------------

"Gary Shaw won the purse bid( $575,000) and he has confirmed it will take place on Dec 5th on Showtime. Most likely, at the Agua Caliente with VDarchinyan-TRojas.

As for Funeka-Guzman, Showtime may not have enough money to add this fight to this broadcast "
