Guzman can come in at 150 as agreed upon, but, Funeka can't be over 145 according to IBF rules. Shaw said the fight is off as of now. Said it is all up to Funeka whether the fight is on or not.atsch
So Guzman can be 154, that is 10lbs over his 144lb weigh in? That's ****ed up. They should fight non-title. Realistically, they are PRIZE fighters first and foremost, so if they both lose a good payday and network exposure because of IBF rules, then forget the IBF belt.
So.. let me get this straight.. Funeka has to stay 145 and under, yet Guzman gets to be 150. Yet, according to some of the Guzman Guzzlers, people would look at Funeka as ducking if he doesn't fight.atsch
a penalty for every pound above the limit should have been on the contract. the fight can go on but Funeka be paid for Guzmans unprofessionalism.
But Ali already deserves the damn title. They should just hand it over, apologize to funeka, tell Guzman to retire because they won't sanction any of his future fights, shake hands and part ways.
