If I was at the fight, I would have ran as close as I could get and throw my drink on the ****en judges. Disgraceful!!! Those judges need to be fired, strung up and whipped thousands of times. They just ****ed over a guy who won one of the most important fights of his career. ****en pissed!!!!!!!!!!
malignaggi, dirrell, funeka twice...this **** has got to stop...this is how they ****ing live u ****ing ******* judges
Hey, I was really impressed with Ali Funeka. Wow that is one heavy and effective jab. He's also has a nice straight right. He has some good defense and is very calm, poised, keeps a decent pace, and has the look of a 15-round fighter. Only criticism is that Funeka needs to work on shortening up his hook, working the body more, and also working on his gears - he keeps the same tempo and rarely picks up the combos and speed, but that's a minor critique. He's definitely the guy I'd like to see again. Guzman plays too much defense and slaps a lot with swings. The scores were atrocious. That fight was no draw. Funeka was in control of that fight all the way. The most I could give Guzman in several rounds was an even round, but he didn't deserve to win rounds. The rounds that were clear wins were for Funeka. This fight is a clear example of how a judge should not throw gift rounds to a guy in a close round. If it is real close, score it even, don't give Guzman gift rounds when it is neck and neck when the dominant rounds were won by Funeka. As for the main event, after that atrocious decision, all I have to say is if Andrade hopes to win, he better get in gear early, be prepared to be rough and keep a fast pace, because I have zero confidence that the judges will be fair to him, or that the ref will be hard on Bute for grabbing incessantly. I hope I'm wrong. Bute has a very tough style to do all that because he moves and throws quick combos and grabs heaven forbid you get close. A modern points fighter who couldn't last or win in the old 15-round days. Sadly though, this is what makes for a champion these days. I'll be rooting for Andrade, the real fighter, but I hope he doesn't just plod along and allow Bute to outbox him. Unfortunately, excessive regulation of boxing along with assists from judges and refs in rewarding grabbing and running and little truly effective blows have hurt the sport badly, sending many towards the more definitive endings mma offers more often than not.
I cannot believe...what I just saw. ....Guzman looked like he was getting stopped in a few rounds, he barely won a minute of any round after the first 2...the judges...how can they can keep a straight face!
