Look, I'm not saying he deserved the draw, but he definitely earned my utmost respect tonight. This is a guy that's fighting 2 or 3 weight classes above where he should be, fighting a man way too big for lightweight, busted up and bleeding, but still coming forward, throwing and trying to win the fight. This man SHOULD BE RESPECTED!!!
Yes, I feel he lost. But you all need to appreciate fighters of this fortitude. They are a dying breed.

I didn't watch the entire fight but Guzman was getting that ass tapped. Shocked it was a draw.

Guzman showed up to fight and gave a good account of himself, all things considered. But, I scored it I think 9-3 or 8-4. Sad outcome for the sport. Terrible, terrible decision. Terrible judges.

You could see the facial expressions on both fighters. After the decision was handed down, Funeka was disappointed (as he should be), and Guzman was relieved he got the draw. Terrible judging indeed.

He proved that he had courage and a big heart. I'll give you that. But being a great fighter let alone an elite? Nah. He never proved those. He was being put on a pedestal with the likes of Morales, Barrera, Marquez and Pacquiao before. Some here even had him winning against all 4 in a H2H matchup. He was overrated.

Funeka just showed to people what me and others have been saying all along, and that is Guzman has still a long ways to go to even compare himself to those 4 both in resume and H2H.

Busted nose or not, Cut in the eye or not, Funeka was gonna tap that ass no matter what. Funeka clearly adjusted to Guzman's style after the first 2 rounds and started throwing jabs more often, doubling and even tripling it. He also started timing Guzman with accurate shots whenever the Dominican started throwing those wild ass shots, which was ALWAYS one of his major weaknesses.

So yeah I'm gonna say Guzman proved to me that he wasn't a quitter and that he has heart. But other than that, he also proved to me that he wasn't as good as a lot of people made him out to be.
