That's ridiculous and the problem with your analysis. You believe no one can take Pacquiao's power even up to 140 or so. It's not true. Guzman has a damn good chin and you know it. All fighters have someone who can take their punch. Imagine Jackson's surprise when he hit McCallum flush....and McCallum hit him back....twice.

Guzman can hit Pacquiao just as much if not maybe a little more than Pacquiao can hit him. Hows that for simple math?

I already said that I think Pacquiao would win this fight because Guzman tires. But you guys dismiss Guzman, and not even for the proper reasons. It's amazing and short sighted.

 

Yeah but still all those fighters have just as much ability if not more.
They have better abilities in different areas. Yes his ability is not to bad but what happens when he faces someone with the smarts of Marquez or the Power of Pacman. Both these guys are far better than the Soto's of the world.

For me Guzman's ability is on the same par with Dawsons and thats about as good as i could put it.

Both pretty good in itself but until they fight an elite fighter were do they stand. Not number 3 surely.

Juan Diaz always comes forward, Pac comes forward in bursts. That means after he gets countered, he will come in all guns blazing and from the looks of it, guzman has the same mental attitude. Pac himself is the pressure, just look at how MAB fought him on last fight...he fought like he was scared.

Well im hardly gonna brag about Pac's weaknesses. Ive analysed a few fights here involving Pac. Against Valero I mentioned Pac's chin and Valero's good chance of KO'n him. Against JMM ive mentioned how JMM will counter him to a UD if Pac doesnt turn it into a war as he has a habit of trying to outbox his opponent when he really should just maul into them. Against ODLH ive mentioned his 0% chance of winning cos of ODLH height/reach and power advantage. Like I said, I know of his weaknesses and always apply them to the fighter his fighting, however most of the time, I believe his advantages outweighs them.

 

Actually what he said was completely true. You are under the impression that if Pacman can hit you, he will beat you because of his power. It's not that simple.

And Guzman is going to hit Pacquiao....he doesn't need to hurt him to outbox him. Styles are entirely different.

 

IMO anyone who bets on a puncher being victorious because of there power advantage, and not their superior boxing ability is very short sighted. There are still exceptions when a puncher will win this way, but it doesn't happen often. More often then not, especially with a guy who has a proven chin, the fighter with the superior boxing ability will win.

 

Those are hypothetical matches. I am talking about ones that were actually happening. I haven't seen your analysis on those fights, but if you said it, then I was wrong and apologize.

Either way. Pacquaio comes forward isn't always punching. Diaz is a pressure fighter. He is always throwing and doesn't explode forward. When he misses, he is not out of position. Pacquiao is. Fortunately for him, like Jones before him, he is so explosive, he often hits his target. Question is, would Guzman be there?

He outboxed what USED to be ONE of the best counterpunchers in the world. Someone with slower hands and less footspeed than he used to have and someone afraid to pull the trigger. JMM proved Pacquiao can be countered. The question is, can you keep it up while taking blows to take that chance. Not sure if Guzman can or cannot. But this is not new.....MANY posters here have said before this fight that Guzman is the guy at 130 Pacquiao would have the most trouble with.

 

Yeah but now your comparing Guzman's skills to Whitaker. Guzman is no where near as skillfull as Sweet Pea.

I think Pacman will frustrate Guzman all night. I feel it wont be the other way around.

Yes, Pacquiao has been in with alot of fighters like Guzman, and vice versa. You need to watch more fights.....don't come at me with that when you clearly have tunnel vision. You don't analyze the fight, just analyze the best scenario for Pacquiao. Do you guys think we don't notice? You make no mention of Guzman's strengths.
