He decided to visit the UK to personally apologise to Alex Arthur for shitting out of their fight. Alex would have owned him. Notice how he didnt come near the UK until Scott Harrison was on holiday lol. Joan "the human chicken" guzman lol
Slightly off topic but whats the consensus on Lee Beard in these parts?? Pre-Pacquiao i was very impressed with him, his apparent knowledge of the game and how he'd travelled across the States learning his trade. His reputation seems to have taken a bit of a hit after the Pac fight, we obviously don't know what exactly happened in that camp but certain people blame Floyd Snr and some blame Beard. And he doesn't gain any friends here training 'magic' does he. Guzman's spoke very highly of him and he must have impressed if they've chosen him and accepted the request to come over here to train. I think its great that a young British trainer is getting some recognition on the world scene.
Thought Beard was relocating...strange for Guzman to come over here. Well i'm not a huge fan of Beard but Guzman must rate him to work with him. I'm not sure of him...also didn't like how he come across in build up to Hatton-Pacquiao.
Did Beard say that Hatton overcooked it and was getting worked to hard by Floyd Snr...:think I think that regardless of the training camp, the style of Ricky Hatton was always going to come second to Pac Man...:yep
Yeah something along those lines, think he said Floyd Snr was turning up late for training sessions and making Hatton do pad work again after Beard had already put him through it while Floyd was at Taco Bell. I agree as to the outcome of the Pac fight, no doubt about that. I just think maybe Beard has taken a bit of unfair flak for it. Like i say i've been quite impressed with him and i wouldn't mind seeing Guzman look great against Funeka and Lee getting the credit for it.
John Watson is also going to spar with him http://news.boxrec.com/news/2010/john-watson-looking-forward-joan-guzman-spar
Good to see Guzman finally training hard or looking to train hard. But, why isn't he with Floyd Sr. no more?
It makes no difference, he will either pull out of the rematch with Funeka or get another gift decision. The man is a party piece.... sooner he retires the better. I don't see why fans still have any patience with him - talented yes, but also lazy with a bad attitude.
Ive not read so much **** in all my life. joan guzman is pound for pound material and to suggest arthur would hav lasted a round with guzman is ****ing hilarious. roach said beerd was the hottest trainer in boxing right now and one to watch out for so if he says that its good enougn for me
Seeing as Floyd treated him badly when he came in overweight im not surprised also thought Floyd dropped him because of it,
Mayweather tried his best to ruin Guzman, probably saw him as a fighter who would go on to school Pacquaio, so a theat Mayweathers P4P number one spot. Mayweather Snr must have sabotaged Guzman's career because of this.
