eh, ahhhh, but what do I do when he bleeds but he is slipping, blocking, and landing more than his fair share? .......help me out here, how do I score such a round?!::silly
You watch the fight again without licking Guzmans balls and see after the first 4 rounds even Guzman knows he is beat :good
How was he landing more than his fair share when he was outlanded at a higher percent, staggered, and out thrown by nearly double? Explain it to me genius because numbers don't lie. If the fight were even a little closer you'd say Guzman won the fight. You really are one of the dumbest people on ESB.
My post history does'nt indicate any activity toward hyping either Guzman or Funeka....... I did'nt have a rooting interest for this here fight. The only thing I can say is that I had it exactly like HBO did after 4 rounds at 2 rounds a piece.....but then while HBO gave rounds 5,6 and 7 to Funeka (I think they were riding Funeka's momentum in rounds 3 and 4, that they stopped paying close attention)....... I gave Guzman those rounds for ripping Funeka's body and doing some work upstairs also........ Alot of those shots by Funeka in rounds 5,6, and 7 were being parried (blocked) and slipped by Guzman, while then Guzman then dug to the body...... .....there was even a disagreement by the commentators in one of those rounds, Kellerman saw it for Guzman, while Bob Papa had it for Guzman. I liked Guzman's work in those rounds better.
Staggered????? You're generalizing......Guzman was staggered in that just one round........ ......there are so many here that I forget.....but are you a *******? If so, this explains everything!
Guzman was working the body quiet well but seemed to die off around the 6 or 7th in my opinion. I give almost every round after the first two to Funeka because his jab couldn't miss and it wasn't a range finding jab it was a wreck your face jab. Anything he set up after the 4th off his jab Guzman couldn't get out of the way of. Really i can't see how you give so much to guzman unless you really score body punching. Thats the only factor i would give in favour of Guzman but thats probably more to do with Funeka getting back problems if he was to punch guzman there. I think your one of the only posters to give Guzman those middle rounds i thought this was were Guzman was at his laziest his movement was poor & his shots might have been better but Funeka volume and precision with most of his shots won it for me in the middle rounds.
No I'm not a *******. I thought Cotto had a good chance of beating him. And you could make an argument that if a guy gets outlanded but lands the heavier shots, he could win rounds or a fight. But Funeka clearly land both the harder shots and more of them.
BTW JM......not a good idea to use punchstat to help you in your scoring....... ...it can be so misleading..... For example....the connects, both overall and power connects were close in the Bute-Andrade fight, (at least thats what punchstat showed)........yet everyone with a brain had the fight scored a shutout at the point of the KO! Not a good idea to use punchstat, it can be so misleading........ .....but hey, feel good in the realization that one day you'll likely see all the pieces come together that you'll see the big picture!
There you go.....Guzman died off after the 7th like you said, the 7th was the last round I gave Guzman. .....and I do value body punching, its a scoring blow and should be valued as such. Guzman was ripping shots to the body. .......and you're absolutely right again, Guzman's shots were better and harder in those rounds!:good Seriously watch those rounds again if you have the opportunity......Funeka had activity, butGuzman really parried and slipped alot of Funeka's shots that alot of you seem to be giving him credit for. ......alot of you seem to forget however. I scored the fight clearly for Funeka......he dominated those last 5 rounds that truly I felt for him when they were interviewing him and he was in a state of disbelief. Guzman won 5 of the first 7 rounds imo, but Funeka dominated the last 5 that yes, its got to be a decision thats hard to swallow for poor Funeka.
