Is there actually any interest in this fight? Curious to see that it isn't listed on the "upcoming fights" schedule on the main page. Where's your money going? I'm hoping that the introduction of Kerry Kayes to the Guzman camp will have shaken Joan up a bit and really pushed him for a change (although I'm not convinced). Interesting to see what tactics Beard will have him adopt come fight night. Could we see a Ricky Hatton style pressure approach from Guzman to eliminate the reach advantage of Funeka?
Guzman doesn't look to me like he can make the changes to beat Funeka, i'll say Funeka goes one better and TKO's Guzman. Who was in Guzman's corner in the first fight anyone remember?
Don't know. Seem to remember Funeka doing little in the last round despite dominating the second half of the fight. Could spur him on to come out strong this time and go for it from the opening bell.
It took Funeka around three rounds to get his jab going from there on i thought it was hard to give Guzman a round. Just outworked Guzman who is a really lazy fighter, Kayes might do him a bit of good but its been brought up a few times he doesn't really help a fighters stamina. Not sure how Don house is but im useless when it comes to trainers.
Not sure I would have said that about Kayes (although I'm not arguing the point) but I think this could prove crucial in the fight. If Guzman wears down the stretch I could see a KO for Funeka. Looking forward to seeing how it plays out.
Anyone else here think that the guy who plays for Wigan looks like Guzman? Every time I see that Wigan players face he reminds me of that smug overrated sod!
I was adamant there was simply no way Guzman could beat Funeka. But I'm not so sure now. Even though I still can't find any logic for Guzman winning I've a feeling he will be less complacent and will do better.
I'm really struggling with this one tbh. Can see so many different scenarios playing out in my head, which is why I'm looking forward to seeing it. :good
Styles make fights; Funeka will dominate Guzman again; for those that actually think Guzman is something special (he ain't) I hope Funeka sparks him :rofl Funeka's the one who deserves the break; which Raheem, Campbell (I scored it for Nate but could've went either way IMO) and Guzman (robbery) he's mixed in some pretty good comp, and, some durability issues aside he's shown massive heart and poise to box the way he has. Could unify at Lightweight IMO GO FUNEKA!
If Guzman wins this, then he has to go down as the most 'skilled' fighter in history, overcoming such an opponent with such a style, with Guzman's own physique and style taken into account.
