Chilemba also just pulled off a solid win after being on an 0-3 run and out of action for over a year(also in hostile territory) His resume and pro career period craps all over Barrera's and it's not even debatable.
Amar had never been knocked out or down according to the commentators, has a good chin. Gvozdyk did what he was supposed to do, he won easily..................
who cares about press conferences? hell no one in America even watches the fights anymore, let alone freaking press conferences.
Which Wlad? Hugging and Jabbing Wlad? I didn't see this fight, but the Nail vs Gonzalez was a really fun fight to watch. Gvozdyk has blistering hand speed and great combinations.
Gvozdyk looked fairly average, its becoming pretty obvious that he trains and fights to the level of his opposition, similar to Saunders. Also Amar had a very awkward rhythm, he's somewhat of a rhythm breaker, he was either constantly punching with Gvozdyk, or in retreat with his high guard up, occasionally unleashing ambush left and right hooks and overhands intermittently, it was a little hard for Oleksandr to anticipate his timing, that being said, I thought he won every round, with a handful, maybe 2 or 3 too close for comfort. He was just an spoilerish pain in the ass type of fighter, no big deal.
Chilemba was supposed to be a spoiler too but he looked brilliant against him. Gvozdyk seems like the type of fighter that relies on athleticism though. So he should be getting those big fights now.
Somebody needs to tell this guy he has to ENTERTAIN to get good TV dates. He'd be a lot more popular in Germany. And I still think the other three Soviets beat him and 40 y/o Stevenson is 50/50.
He is, but a different kind. Not all spoilers spoil the same. And yeah, he should be getting them, but will he? That's another question.
I think Bivol and Beterbiev would fight him. Especially Beterbiev. The guy is desperate for a big fight and he's getting old.
Probably, but Beterbiev is tailor made for Oleksandr, far easier to anticipate and time than Amar, its just one of those weird style issues. It could end up looking a lot like the Gonzalez match.
Maybe not as quickly or embarrassingly. But a few rounds later, and perhaps a similar fashion. Although with Artur, he always has a punching chance with anyone.
