Thurman is a sad, phony, irrelevant F**kwit. He doesn't deserve Shields, let alone Bud, our attention, or even this post. He's been fragile for years. He's fought 3 times in over 6 years. Of course he wants to fight a woman.
I hope this fight happens just to shut the insane, woke left up about there being no difference between the sexes.
This is the only fight Thurman is willing to take. I'm actually laughing out loud at this complete bum.
It’s just not going to happen, I hope Thurman comes out guns blazing and KO her hard in the first round. I can’t stand Shields, she’s so annoying.
Thurman needs to make a statement, he needs to knock her ass out. She won't even remember walking to the ring "what happened?..what happened?" she'll ask, then she'll see it on the big screen.
I'm gonna go scientific on this one. She's not beating Keith Thurman. I will give some examples about how skills are acquired and there are neuro-motor pathways built with long term practice especially where you been doing it since being very young. These skills become ingrained and automatic where the fighter or athlete is not thinking and can just pull off anything effortlessly because they've been doing it so long. That's why you see gifted athletes like Crawford do amazing things and why someone like Jake Paul can do decent punches but still has to think about it and looks bad and amateurish at times. Then you also have different levels of natural ability and athleticism. If Shields is fighting some average dude that hasn't built these skills, she'd beat him up. Just like if you are a strong fully grown man playing tennis for a few years and then you play some skinny high school or college girl and she just effortlessly power smacks the ball around and has perfect timing while you are way more powerful but have to think about moves and this hurts your timing and fluidity. Boxing or fighting is not tennis though and physicality comes into play where you might not have the skills but have natural strength, your shots are more powerful, and can absorb shots. But you still need technique to land anything. If we are talking about Shields fighting someone of Jake Paul's level at around the same weight, then she has a good chance of beating him, as long as she doesn't gas or is hurt by shots. If you are talking about someone like Thurman that is also very experienced, and has ingrained skill level while being faster, more explosive and has been hit by some of the hardest hitting male fighters like Pac, Porter, Garcia then you don't give a **** about Shield's so called power. Shields will also have to be able to absorb his punches. Finally, trained males not only have more explosiveness and anaerobic reserves but also a higher VO2 Max which means that they can last longer hence the 12, 3 min rounds compared to the 10, 2 minute rounds women fight at. That's not saying you can't train that in sparring, but if you haven't done that in real fights you don't have that ingrained. In my view Thurman can beat her a few different ways. He could stay close and just unload vicious shots on her at the start, see how she responds and still have reserves for later on. Or he could use jabs, pops, and movement to wear her down and then turn it up later when she slows down. If women experience & skill for skill, could keep up with men like that in sport we'd have women beating men at sprints or long distance events or basketball, and we wouldn't need men's & women's separate boxing. We also had similar things in pro tennis where there was talk of Serena beating the top male players, but you'd see that when they played mixed doubles, the female pros had trouble handling the speed and power on the serves, not to mention men were used to playing 5 sets for 5 hours or more of tennis. I don't think this fight ever happens though because Thurman most likely doesn't want to go at her like that and try to take her head off and hurt her.
