They mean nothing in real life... If the rumors are true, a lot of Great Champions get dropped by journeymen in sparring, so what? If the rumors are false, whats the point? Its not like Parker/Wlad need the credibility of some Gym war... They are professional boxers not some guys from the bar trying to brag
Joshua has admitted the Price knockdown, hes got nothing too hide, Daniel Dubois knocking AJ out sounds like BS. Okolie knocking AJ out seems very unlikely. Wlad knocking Wilder down with a bodyshot, considering Wlad never throws bodyshots in a fight seems very unlikely, I know Haye was meant to of starched Wilder in their first day of training for Tyson Fury 1. Cold aswell apparently. After that Wilder was meant to of held his own and landed his own bombs on Haye.
I am certain Price can KD 99.9999 per cent of active boxers if those bombs he throw do land, very interesting fighter that knows how to put his weight and frame behind the punches
It means nothing but it’s worth noting that Pricey KO’d Joshua face first to the canvas. That tells us two things: the Liverpool plumber has some serious next level power to do that in sparring gloves and also that Big AJ is packing some china in that HGH chin of his.
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...avid-haye-rematch-boxing-donkey-a8224181.html Very interesting article with some nice quotes.
We know that Price is possibly the hardest active raw puncher today, his punching power probably same as Wilder, except Wilder has the better deceptive delivery technique Anthony Joshua has an Iron chin, getting KTFO by Price means you have a low IQ trainer...Poor choice of sparring? why spar with an unskilled power puncher, whats there to learn??
Again response required from Team Joshua, why did you pick Price for Sparring? Seriously maybe I am missing something? What could be learned from sparring a Power Punching Maximalist, who has nothing else to offer other than Power? Was this some cynic psychological training to convince Joshua to improve his defense? I can't see any other purpose to bring in Price for sparring If Price must spar, he must wear custom built 32 oz gloves
They mention Wilder's sparring experiences with Wlad on commentary in his fights often. What they usually say is that Wlad knocked him down but he showed his toughness and got back up. Then they say Wlad complimented Deontay, saying he's one of the best sparring partners he's ever had. Don't really see what's the big deal.
why spar price ?? well price knocked him down. so theres a good reason to continue sparring with him.
i think it was back in 2010, AJ was just an amateur getting experience. remember at the time Price was touted as the next big heavyweight (over here anyway)
That’s right and they came through the same amateur Olympic system so it’s an obvious spar for both guys knowing all the same coaches, facilities etc.
There is no good reason to spar with a heavy puncher, or boxers who like to go all out in sparring. Price is an exciting boxer and I want to see him fight 6x times a year, winning some, losing some it will always be dramatic for sure. I just think his is a very bad sparring partner for anybody, its like playing Russian Roulette, the brain damage is irreversible and there is nothing to learn from sparring a guy whose only skill is raw straight forward power. Lots of lighter hitting bigger guys, with much more skills, much better suited for sparring.
Okay that makes sense, I thought this was in recent times. At that time Joshua probably couldn't afford picking and choosing sparring partners, so he had to take whats available
AJ has admitted Price KO'd him, Whyte also beat him as an amatuer . It mean nothing now. AJ is no longer an amateur, he is a pro now. And he is the undefeated unified heavyweight world champion as a pro. As far as Wlad knocking down Wilder pretty much everyone confirmed that. Thing is it was meant as a compliment to Wilder in many ways. Emanuel Steward was impressed because Wlad hit Wilder with a shot that pretty much KO'd everyone else but Wilder got up and finished the sparring session like nothing happened.
Another example of you commenting on something you know nothing about. Price has one of the best amateur records in UK heavyweight history. He's actually the last guy who beat Tyson Fury, so why wouldn't he have sparred him years ago.
