    Ahem, yes there is:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleksandr_Karelin

His wrestling record is 887 wins and two losses.

    :number_one:

And even he lost 2 times :)

By the way, Karelin says that 15 years later he still is very upset and disappointed aboth his last loss.

He blames himself for that loss almost every day.

2 times out of almost 900 matches ... how much more dominant do you want? :D As for that loss, they had to specifically change the rules so that porky Gardner would have a chance.

If what you say is true and that the loss still bugs him, it just goes to show the level of fanatical dedication that these super athletes have over us normal folk :deal:

Possibly. But we can only judge him on what we see of him now.

Yeah I think a prime Holmes or a Prime Ali would, not to mention the '88 version of Tyson. Holmes/Ali would outbox him 7 times out of 10 probably, Tyson 50/50.

That's like saying Wlad is unbeatable because he wasn't prime or focussed against Sanders or AJ.

You're right. Karelin isn't the one who will blame the rules, judges or anone else but himself.

"The most bitter my feeling is that I disappointed many people. I've said it earlier and I will say it now, - I betrayed the expectations that were associated with this tournament. The fans expected this victory from me, and it's hard to comment on what has happened even now" - that's Karelin quote from his interview 2 years ago.

I'd be interested to watch that prime Karelin in MMA against all those stars. He had all the tools to succeed there, too.

When someone does a thread like this you obviously put Lewis or any fighter on his best day.Its not really COULD,more than who would you favor over Lewis if they fought to the best of their abilities.

    Vitali klitchko
    Mike Tyson
    Anthony Joshua
    Wlad Klitchko
    Riddick Bowe

Are my top 5 you could make REASONABLE case for.I personally have Lewis ranked number 4 in H2H fights.

    Great post.

The other day I was trying to right a small eccentric press by myself. I'm reasonably strong for my size but I couldn't move it an inch. First thought was "No human being could move this thing upright". Second thought was "... but Karelin might." It's humbling to think that another person could be that powerful.

This is heavyweight boxing. Anyone 'can' beat anyone.

But to put it another way, I would favor Lewis to win majority of his fights in a 10 fight series against anyone in history. Just imo
