i always see threads about fantasy fights and who ranks where in the atg lists so i just had an idea for a thread series to classify certan fighters in atg status. Each match will be split into 6 categories power, speed, chin, heart, defense and weight dis/advantages

first up the golden boy vs Duran @147

Power- At 147,DLH was a huge hitter while duran really was 'hands of stone' at lightweight.at welter though i think its just about even

Speed of foot/hand- Duran was quite fast but i still dont think he had the measure of dlh and this was an easy category to decide

Chin- Both extremely tough and durable with excellent chins but im gonna have to give this to duran. If you are a LW who can take Hagler's shots,ur a tough *******

Defense- While Duran had vastly underrated defense and parrying ability i feel dlh had great ability to slip and counter punches and was very adept at blocking punches with his gloves i.e vs trinidad

weight advantage- even.both started at lw and fought as high as 160 reasonably comfortably so neither is at a disadvantage

    Outcome

DLH would his superior boxing skills to take the early rounds (albeit close) before the rough tactics of duran would slow him and the fight would soon become a slugfest with both landing hard flurries.DLH would fight valiantly but i could see duran taking an entertaining UD in a fight similar to ssm-dlh 1

I'd agree with you on that, Duran might find it hard early but would start getting to Oscar after a few rounds and rough him up.

I dunno, I just wouldn't ever even consider Oscar in this conversation.

Good thread . interesting choice of fighters and this is not a mismatch whatever the majority will say.

Actually regarding the weight DLH started at 130 while Duran at 135 , and DLH was never a legit 160 , while Duran fought against Jorge Castro twice at 168 , won and lost to him and lost twice by decision to Vinny Pazienza , another former LW , although 11 years younger at that weight.
The explanation to it is simply that Duran was much fatter .
In lean mass I assume DLH had a small advantage.

I think Duran would not have stopped him and I think your prediction is good.
I also think a DLH victory is reasonable.
