    My opinions:

Louis vs. Ali - Ali, Decision

Louis vs. Frazier - Louis, Decision

Louis vs. Liston - Hmm, I'd have to go Liston late KO (I'm going to get killed for saying this!)

Louis vs. Jack Johnson - Louis, late KO

Louis vs. Dempsey - Louis, mid fight KO

Louis vs. Tunney - Louis, Decision

Louis vs. Marciano - Can't decide!

Louis vs. Patterson - Louis, mid fight KO

Louis vs. Foreman - Foreman, KO

Louis vs. Holmes - Holmes, Decision

Louis vs. Tyson - Tyson, KO

Louis vs. Holyfield - Louis, Decision

Louis vs. Bowe - Louis, Decision

Louis vs. Tua - Louis, Decision

Louis vs Both Klit Bros. - Could go two ways with Wlad: Louis KO's him late, or Wlad KO's Louis mid fight. Vitali: Can't see Vitali getting KO'd by Louis, but I can see Vitali KO'ing Louis. Vitali, KO.

    Louis vs. Ali
Louis could win, but I'd make Ali a mild favorite.

    Louis vs. Frazier
I'd favor Louis, but an upset is possible.

    Louis vs. Liston
Louis a favorite, but not by much.

    Louis vs. Jack Johnson
Louis mildly favored if Johnson is time machined from 1908 to 1940. About even if Louis time machines into Johnson's day, or if they are born into the same era.

    Louis vs. Dempsey
I narrowly favor Louis, but it all depends on which fighter gets the fight he wants.

    Louis vs. Tunney
Louis, but an upset definitely possible.

    Louis vs. Marciano
Tough pick, I'd go a ton on Marciano, a ton plus one pumpkin seed on Louis.

    Louis vs. Patterson
    Likely Louis.

    Louis vs. Foreman
    4-3 Louis

    Louis vs. Holmes
I lean to Louis at his best, but if Joe is off Larry could take it.

    Louis vs. Tyson
50-50 if time machined; tending towards Louis if they're born into the same era.

    Louis vs. Holyfield
A little towards Louis if time machined; more solidly towards Louis if they come along in the same era.

    Louis vs. Bowe
    Same as Holyfield.

    Louis vs. Tua
    Likely Louis.

    Louis vs Both Klit Bros.
    Both at once? :)
    5-3 Louis vs Wlad, 3-2 Louis vs Vitali, on a time machine scenario;
better odds for Louis if they come along in the same era.

    other matchups

    Louis vs Lennox Lewis
Toss up if time-machined, Louis favored if they come along at the same time.

    Louis-Langford
Probably Louis, but not a sure thing.

    Louis-Jeffries
I favor Louis if Jeffries takes a time machine from 1903 to 1940; tough call if Louis time machines to Jeffries day, or if Jeffries is born into Joe's day -- maybe I'd slightly favor Louis; if Joe was born into Jim's day, I'd bet on The Boilermaker.

    Louis-Fitzsimmons
Louis probable in a time machine scenario; born into the same day, Fitzsimmons is a very live underdog.

    Louis-Corbett
Louis over the Corbett of 1892. Louis 3-2 if born into Corbett's day, but only 5-4 if Corbett is born into Joe's era.

    Louis-Jackson
I favor Louis to eventually find Jackson in any scenario; good fight up till the stoppage.

    Louis-Sullivan
Louis if by time machine; pick 'em if born into the same era .

Louis beats all of them. no joke. thats my opinion.

    - lowe interesting you having rock beating louis even in his prime as the only one to do the job. I do believe rockys win over louis in 51 is grossely underated. the first 5 rounds are extremley exciting. I do believe louis in his prime takes it, because no one in history can come into louis and beat him......

Joe Louis was the BEST or at least EQUAL to Jack Johnson in terms of heavies from 1887 to 1960............. The 1960's and above would be "Touchy" for BOTH Johnson and Louis........ Still, BOTH were GREAT!;)

Well, I think their actually fight showed glimpses of what would happen in their primes. Louis himself said he didn´t like to be crowded, on these list there are 3 fighters who did that but from those three I don´t think Frazier has the chance to stay on his feet. Tyson has a 50% chance of getting Louis out early and will knock Louis down but it would be something like kamikaze. Either this works or he get´s knocked out himself. Marciano on the other hand would not get knocked out by Louis and would bring Louis inte a zone where he does not feel comfortable for every round and finally outwork him. I just think Marciano has the right mix of chin, defense, power, workrate and most importantly style to beat Louis

I think Tunney and Johnson would beat him, I think Johnson would take him in a trilogy.

I think that Tyson and Liston are close to 50.50.

I pick him over the rest.

Louis vs. Ali I like Louis to put the pressure on Ali and match him with combo's and counters..Could be a triogy but Joe takes it

Louis vs. Frazier Louis by KO...Frazier walks into the grinder

Louis vs. Liston Louis by Chop down speed and power of combo...8th rd

Louis vs. Jack Johnson Louis too much power, Johnson makes it ugly TKO14

Louis vs. Dempsey This on is a war but Louis

Louis vs. Tunney Tunny runs but cant hide Louis UD 15 or late stop

Louis vs. Marciano This is always a tough fight for Joe but SD Louis

Louis vs. Patterson Louis fast by 4 rds

Louis vs. Foreman Louis too acurate and the jab speed of combo on the wide swinging Foreman , Joe does what Lyle could not

Louis vs. Holmes Joe had the best right hand over the Jab...Ko in 10

Louis vs. Tyson.....Early action from Mike but Joe's counter rocks Mike and puts him down in the 5th unable to rise

Louis vs. Holyfield Louis too smooth , body shot and combo'd RSC in 8

Louis vs. Bowe Joe chops down Bowe, Riddick takes apounding goes down 3 times in the 7th

Louis vs. Tua ...Tua comes out fast and Joe controls fight with the jab..Tua too much of a target for Joe..Corner keeps Tua in it start of 9

Louis vs Both Klit Bros. Louis Ko's Vlad....Close decision over a a swollen Vital..Louis swelled up as well

I'm surprised so many people are picking Louis over Ali. I think too much gets made out of Joes comment of him hating being crowded honestly. Louis gave a peak Marciano all he could handle and lasted 8 rounds with him when very faded, imagine how much better a peak Louis would of done?

We all saw Lightheavyweight Billy Conn befuddle and outmanuever, outspeed Louis for 13 rounds before trying to go for the KO which is an idiotic thing to do when you're giving up the amount of weight he was against arguably the best puncher EVER.

I think Ali would be able to do much better than Conn because after all he WAS much better than Conn, and win by a competitive but clear decision.

I wount make any of them better than even money against Louis.

His most dangerous challenges would be Jack Johnson and Muhamad Ali.

I think I might be alone in giving Frazier more than a 50-50 chance. But I think that Louis would have a hard time keeping Frazier off of him since he didn't posses Foreman's physical strength.

You can't just say that Frazier would end up against every puncher like he did against Foreman. Foreman was a master bully with a chin of steel, and it was his overall superiority in strength and size that doomed Frazier as much as his punches.
