84 is not the year of my birth, and my enjoyment at watching the thrilling fights of Manny Pacquiao has absolutely nothing to do with my opinion on a Toney-Calzaghe fight. Please leave your fanboy prejudices at the door.

Toney's lack of foot movement would be exposed by Calzaghe.

Even if he was what the hell difference does that make? If he's seen the fights in question then his age doesn't have any bearing on the argument at all.

the eubanks that fought calzaghe gave one of the best performances of his career .
anybody who had watched eubank from the beggining could tell you this.

what has you supporting manny paquiao got to do with it ?
i doubt there is a european who does not like him .

i queried it, because his take on the eubank fight sounded off especially saying eubank was nowhere near what he was , when in fact after me watching every fight of eubank tv career and many live when i attended it was in eubanks top 5 best performances and efforts and his weight making and actual going for his shots with power was as impressive as any prime eubank performance.

to know that you would have had to have been around from the early 80`s to appricate the fact which is why age does have a bearing on timeframes in whatever subject you are discussing.

pacman84 says he is older than that anyway but possibly from another country would not be as exposed to eubanks as i was.

the barkley that toney beat sent his punches by telegraph and tv had to speed up the slow motion replays as the viewers thought the pause button had been pressed.

I disagree, to know that all you'd have to do is watch his previous fights as well. Age never has and never will have any bearing on any thing like this, knowledge of the subject at hand is what determines right and wrong.

Calzaghes lack of a solid chin and basic punching flaws would be exposed by Toney.

This would be an excellent fight. Both men can trouble the other, but I might favor Calzaghe slightly because of his advantage in output and aggression.

Toney would land clean counters and avoid many of the flurries on the inside, but Calzaghe could rack up points on the outside without being in Toney's range. It isn't the handspeed as much as the footspeed, and Calzaghe's chin is good enough to withstand the occasional big counterpunch.

I'd favor prime Hopkins clearly over Calzaghe, but not Toney.

Lack of a solid chin? All that shows is you have a lack of knowledge of Calzaghe, or just flat out distain. His chin is very good, always has been. What on Earth would cause you to make such an off statement? I may as well say Toney's chin was shaky because he was put down by Reggie Johnson.
