Prime Mike Tyson would be too aggressive and his power too threatening. Not that Lewis didn't have power, but Lewis would have to rain down much punishment on Tyson to stop him while Tyson would need only one good shot. The right hand he dropped Holmes with or the combination he stopped Thomas with would've probably plastered Lewis.

I actually for some reason think a early to mid 70's Ali would have a better chance than his 60's counterpart. A 70's Ali while giving up some speed, seemed stronger physically and somewhat harder punching. But, he was more experienced and likely had a better chin.

Holmes would have a good chance, but I'd go with Lewis primarily because of his greater size and punching power. If Holmes was bigger than Lewis, I'd favor him. They were about even as far as skill go, even though they had different styles. But Holmes had a much better chin. I don't think Lewis would've survived the right hand that Shavers hit Holmes with.

Frazier and Marciano probably have enough punching power to beat Lewis, but Lewis size, skill and power would make him a dangerous proposition who would be a clear favorite over these two.

Liston could do it, but I'd favor Lewis. Lewis would be very much aware of Liston's power and Lewis would act accordingly. Liston was a better boxer than most give him credit for, but I don't think he'd out box Lewis. His best bet may be to try to entangle Lewis in a brawl, but even that's not guaranteed. Lewis was a good survivor and Liston never tasted the power of a 245 pound, accurate power punching super heavy. I'd lean towards Lewis.

Shavers could land a bomb and cause an upset, but I think Lewis blasting him out is more likely. Lewis bomb would probably get there first.

Foreman would be dangerous, but Lewis had better defense and Foreman couldn't just plow through Lewis power either. If Foreman isn't careful, he could be blown away by Lewis. After all, his usual victim wasn't ATG, power punching, skilled super heavies. And the first power puncher he ran into, he barely escaped. Now, Joe Frazier had enough punching power to hurt and even stop Foreman. Hell, Frazier had enough punching power to eventually stop anyone. It's landing the punches while punches are flying back at you that's the problem. Lyle was able to stick around long enough to land his own. Lewis would be very respectful of Foreman's power and would act accordingly.

I don't know about Dempsey. I think he'd be most likely to get wasted against a prime Lennox out of the names you mentioned. Louis wins.....if he can survive Lewis firepower or manage to catch Lewis with some heavy shots before Lewis catches him.

I think Louis would have a better shot than Liston as Louis had quicker hands, put combinations together better and had just as much firepower. Also, Louis punching power was proven against Lewis sized heavies. That isn't to say Liston couldn't hurt a SHW, that's just saying that with Louis, we don't have to speculate, we have film of a Lewis sized heavy being sent spinning to the canvas in a manner not seen since it took place nearly 77 years ago.

Douglas if he was "on" would have a very good shot at victory.

Anthony Joshua would also have a good chance. He had a similar style to Frank Bruno, albeit with slightly less one punch power which is made up for by faster hands and better combination punching ability. He could take what Bruno did to give Lewis trouble and improve upon it. Not saying he beats Lewis, but he could.

And laugh all you want, but Wilder would have a chance. Granted, he's the clear underdog here, but his power isn't in question. Someone get's blown away in this fight and if Lewis isn't on his P's and Q's, Wilder could be the one holding the shotgun that night.

    Not good.

Even taking the more favorable assessments of him, he has the wrong strengths for the job.
