    Wladimir.

In the beginning of his carreer he was one of the best and most complete offensive superheavyweights in history. For a man his size he is fast and agile, light on his feet, his defence in underrated, he has excellent basics and we shall not talk about his punching power. We do not see him use his other punches but his left hook is great and nearly decapited Peter. His only problem is his chin and because of things that happened in the past he seems to panic under pressure, but he managed to do well.

Haye is inviting a ko. It's not a matter of "if" it's a matter of "when". Nobody gets away with fighting in a purely offensive mode in boxing. Eventually, someone is going to hit you back, and then what? Haye has only fought 21 fights. Wlad's fought 49 or 50, I'm not really sure. The experience, training and skill go to Wlad in this argument. As for natural ability, I think both men are gifted athletes, but I don't think that Hayes effectiveness at cruiser weight is going to translate entirely at heavy weight. Just my opinion.

The thread is asking who is the most TALENTED of the two though, and you said Wlad was clearly more talented. I completely disagree. Haye for me has more natural talent.

Wlad came off the production line right before they dished out robotic chins!

Wlad is a much more talented fighter than Haye. Haye has speed and extra pop because of the speed. That is all Haye has. You can hit Haye. But, it is much more difficult to reach and hit Wlad. Emanual Steward has made Wlad so much better.

Wlad and his brother are the last two products of the soviet era olympic factory. Wlad fought over 200 amateur fights and won a very high percentage of them. Yes, he came out of a system, but that system was designed to first find him. For that, he needed talent in order to stand out. After the system identified him, then they began to train him and develop him into the killer robot. So Wladimir obviously had plenty of talent just to get selected into the system.

Haye reminds me of a smaller version of Wlad before he got Steward in his corner...all offensive, almost no defense.Sure, the old Wlad was knocked down and out by Sanders but i still think that early version of Wlad displayed more talent than Haye...

Which has what to do with natural talent exactly? Haye can throw shots that Wlad could only dream of. Wlad may be more rounded due to his experience and training, but in terms of actual fighting talent i think Haye is superior. He became a unified, undisputed champion after just 21 fights, how long did it take Wlad?

No, Haye was stopped on his feet. And only once, not three times like WK.

He's had more than twice as many fights, for one thing, and was KO'd by serious punchers, not Carl Thompson. I honestly think he wins the battle of chins with David Haye, he can't take much of a shot but at least that's coming from real heavyweight punchers. He's definitely the better boxer, though not as fast.

Thompson is a big-punching cruiser and former world champion. How many titles had Purrity, Brewster and Sanders won between them before they fought Wlad? I guess the talent thing comes down to what you like to see in a fighter. Wlad has a textbook jab and straight right, but these are conventional punches that anyone can learn to throw with a bit of training. He has natural size and power, but talent? Not so sure. Haye on the other hand does lots of things you cannot teach in the gym, and whilst he may not look like a textbook fighter it takes a lot of talent to throw the shots he does. You could train him to be a jab, jab, jab, straight right kind of fighter but he would be a lot less exciting.
