Incorrect. At the time of negotiation Haye couldn't sign to fight Wlad as he could only forgo his mandatory in a guaranteed unification bout. The sticking point was with Wlad choosing to fight Chisora in April a later unification bout could therefore not be guaranteed as there is a chance (however small) that Wlad could lose and no longer be a title holder at that point. Haye therefore had no option but to move on and look at his mandatory opponent who, roughly a week later, has been blocked from fighting Haye due to having hepatitis. And so Haye once again talks up a fight with the older Klit which personally I don't think will ever happen. Haye's as slippery as an eel - and much less electrifying too at this point.
Right, so the main concern for them was the possibility of Wladimir losing, and consequently eliminating a unification. But again, the same thing applies to Vitali. He too is defending his titles, and unlike his brother, is facing a far tougher opponent; thus increasing the chances of him losing his belts too. The scenario for fighting Wladimir and the scenario for Vitali, are both identical. Both have a risk of losing, and both are available 8/9 weeks later. If he's ok to fight one (Vitali), then he should have been ok to fight the other (Wladimir). BUT.....I guess the only difference is, Wladimir wanting to fight in Germany makes a fight with him only possible for later. So maybe this is the main problem for Haye. A fight with Vitali means the implications (sitting idle without a dance partner) are far less damaging should Vitali lose or be unable to turn up 8/9 weeks later. Also, am I correct in believing that Chagaev is not allowed to fight in the UK? Is there no chance Haye can fight him somewhere else? He may get less money for it, but hey, **** happens.
Erm, he could always fight in May you spastic. Stop fabricating bull**** to suit your pathetic agenda.
That's what I was thinking too. Staying at home to face Vitali who is: - Coming off a challenging defence against a far trickier Solis - 40 years old (less able to deal with 2 fights in 8/9 weeks). Is far less daunting than going to Germany to face Wladimir who is: - Coming off an easy tune-up against non-threatening opponent. - Younger and fitter (better able to deal with 2 fights in 8/9 weeks). If Team Haye do decide to go for Vitali, Vitali has every right in saying "Sure. That July 2nd date you had with my brother, I'll meet you then. And we're sticking with the exact same arrangements you had with Wladimir, too".
Haye could always fight in May. It was Wlad who refused to fight in May because it would have meant not being in Germany.
It's the time turnaround between fights that gets me. According to Haye there was no way Wlad would be ready 8-9 weeks after Chisora, there wasn't enough time for promotion, etc... But Vitali after Solis...sure, no problem. I thought Haye was "done with the Klitschkos", and his heavyweight legacy was secure. Oh, and if Haye wanted to fight Vitali, couldn't he have approached Vitali about a fight immediately after he ran from Wladimir? Instead of waiting until Vitali had his next fight locked up.
I don't see how you can say Vitali has every right to insist on all the same details as Vlad just because they are related or because they are have same promotor,lol....Vitali might not need all the stipulations that Vlad has insisted on plus whats to say Haye to willing to give in to all the stipulations that Vlad needed. Imagine if Amir Khan got a fight with Mayweather, got all the details to his liking because Mayweather felt confident of an easy win then suddenly Khan says no instead you have to fight Pacman but you also have to fight me away from home etc etc. What do you think would happen?. Plus fighting Vitali in UK is still harder than fighting vlad in Germany I think, also think Haye feels this aswel thats why he was so desperate to get Vlad in the ring at almost any cost.

But he's 40 years old, and taking him on at home in only 8/9 weeks after his fight with Solis, significantly increases Haye's chances of causing an upset.
