Had 114-113 Hopkins, Calzaghe did better than I thought

I scored the fight 114-113 Hopkins.

I can understand why some judges and observers give the fight to Calzaghe. He did throw more and I think he got Nard completely exhausted in the 12th. I think the compubox numbers are completely off, Calzaghe was hitting Bernard's back and shoulders more than anything. He hit Bernard flush more than any fighter since Roy Jones though, so I'm not as disappointed as I was with the Taylor fights/outcomes. In other words, I can live with a Calzaghe win.

However, I had the fight a draw (minus the pt deduction to Calzaghe for the KD). Why? I think Bernard took the rounds he took with effective punching. Some of the stuff Bernard was doing inside, short hooks, uppercuts, are hard to perceive because he moves his whole body with those shots, so sometimes it looks like a defensive more than a punch.

I had bet my presence on ESB on a Bernard win. I will now go. However, I am very proud of Bernard's performance, he executed the game plan. I am also very impressed by Calzaghe. He proved he could adjust, he proved he was more than a Euro fighter.

Props to Joe Calzaghe, I thought the whole fight would look like the first round. He is also the first to make Hopkins look a bit old (I think Nard faked the low blow, I'm ok with that, he did what was necessary to catch a breather). Had the fight been a 15 rounds fight, he would've probably had Hopkins out on his feet from sheer exhaustion.

So, props to both and especially Calzaghe, who exceeded my expectations. I had Hopkins winnin 114-113, but I'm ok with the result and I can see why the fight was scored the way it was scored.

Like, I have said in two other threads, I just watched the fight again and to be honest JC easily won a fight that I initially thought was close. Do the same and get back to us.

I've watched it twice and had Hopkins winning 9-3 and 8-4 plus a KD, if anyone won easy it was Hops. Calazage DID NOT LAND CLEAN PUNCHES. He was ineffective.

Who did Enzo say won? BHOPs
Who did Roach say won? BHOPs
    Who got hurt most? Calazage
Who landed the better cleaner more effective shots? BHOPs by a mile

I had Hopkins winning this fight too but it could go either way. Too hard to score, but I like Hopkins cleaner shots better than Calzaghe's workrate.

I had it 114-113 Hopkins but the other way around would be fine too.

I can't seem to find 6-7 rounds for Hopkins...your score card seem to say that Hopkins won 6-7 rounds.
