How different would his career have been? They seem to work together REALLY well.

He might have edged out a clear decision versus Margo the first time around by creating more angles, side stepping in the pocket simultaneously neutralizing Margo’s reach advantages. Cotto was boxing Antonio’s ears off but he was using too much movement while still allowing Antonio the opportunity to land punches in the most effective way which is at the end of a fully extended arm.

Do you think he could have beaten Floyd when he fought him?

Nothing he could have done would have prepared him for Floyd, he would have beaten Pacquiao though with Roach tbh.

Would still have lost to every fighter he lost to before.

Would've definitely helped him.. Cotto is stubborn as hell though.. He should've won the fist Margo fight relatively easy but hes corner was not in a good place then and also was very mediocre... Other than that I still think he would've lost to Manny, May and Canelo... Probably would've beat Trout.. Maybe

No. Pretty sure the guy that was training cotto for the Floyd fight prepared him very well for it. Pretty sure I remember it being a Cuban trainer but can't quite remember his name. Was surprised when cotto broke it off...cotto was good in that Floyd fight. Think the Cuban was tactically very good sure he was up on sports science etc as well. Could argue after watching a roach trained pacman v Floyd. Cotto could have probably done worse against floyd with roach than under the Cuban.

Pedro Diaz. I agree about Cotto being better off with Diaz than with Roach. The thing that killed him was lack of discipline. Diaz stated that much in an interview, something about Cotto basically doing a Kovalev and training(or not training) himself.

Ah cheers mate. Had a feeling the second name was Diaz. Mind watching a programme in the lead up to the mayweather
fight was quite impressed with the guy. Sure he was a big part of the Cuban amateur set up for years but didn't,t really have much professional experience. Seemed to rejuvenate cotto a bit but think he only done something like 3 fights. The margarito rematch...mayweather and trout. The trout one ended in disappointment but could be argued trout was just a bad style match up for cotto. Hes a big guy something like 5 foot 10.

Diaz might not have been better than other guys for cotto against other fighters but for the Floyd fight he caused mayweather some problems. Think it was something to do with the footwork Diaz had him working on...sure it was some kind of system of working the feet they worked on might have been they only punched at certain points depending on the foot placement or something like that. Was pretty methodical but looked like it was difficult for mayweather to work out compared to his usual one or two rounds it takes him.

Also pretty sure cotto left emmanual steward for him. Would make sense cotto lacked discipline at that point. He always struggled with the weight he was at but jumped the weight class,s pretty quickly around that time by the looks of it.

Not likely however I could envision more hooks and feints implemented into the game plan versus the Pedro Diaz approach of slowly and methodically trying to corner Floyd and counter punch one of the greatest counters punchers to grace the squared circle. Lol
