Bruno, you're new...so let me give you a quick run-down of the history of recent wars here on ESB:
    • Calzaghe v. Lacy WAR: before my time on the forum; a war between American posters and European/British posters. Them and us mentality established between Americans and Europeans/Brits
    • Calzaghe v. Kessler WAR: between the fans of Calzaghe and the Danish et al. fans of Kessler.
Both wars were won by the Calzaghe hard-core supporters, who were later ruled by "THE ESB ELITE". The hardcore Kessler fans joined the ESB ELITE and started hugging Calzaghe, because he was the man who beat their boy, Kessler. The ESB ELITE returned the favour by hugging Kessler too; he was their boy's best win.
    • The Great War: "THE ESB ELITE" loved loved smoothly skilled "Supernatural" fighters, especially Calzaghe, and including: Kessler (Calzaghe's best win), JMM, Guzman, Mijares. They hated particularly American fighter, especially "limited, one dimensional" fighters like Taylor and Pavlik. This war radicalised opinion even more into pro-Calzaghe Brits/mainly Europeans/ ESB ELITE and anti-Calzaghe/Pro-Pavlik/Taylor mainly Americans
Again, this war was won by "THE ESB ELITE"
    • The Pacquiao War: "THE ESB ELITE" turned against Pacquiao after he beat JMM because he was a threat to Calzaghe in the top of the p4p rankings. They radicalised opinion into pro-Calzaghe/pro-Supernatural/Smoothly skilled fighters like JMM, Guzman, Mijares, Cotto, Kessler and Gamboa, but also Dawson to a certain extent, and Pacquiao, Margarito, and all the other fighters. Cotto lost to Margarito, Guzman failed to make weight, Mijares got thrashed, Dawson was lucky to survive against Johnson, Gamboa kept picking himself off the floor
This war led to the destruction and disbandment of "THE ESB ELITE". The rest of us had won! The forum became again a place for sensible debate; we no longer had to take a stance on every match-up against the background of the fault lines of the war. We could be objective again. There were no more agendas.

But in the meantime, another war was starting:
    • The Anti-Calzaghe War. It was started this summer by a new poster who joined the board. He brought together many of those who hated Calzaghe - a symbol of the hated ESB ELITE, especially Americans. Europeans/Brits started defending Calzaghe again...the forum was radicalised again...there was no more sensible debate. Pavlik fans joined the Calzaghe haters, when Calzaghe fought Jones instead of Pavlik. When Pavlik got beaten by Hopkins, Dawson became the new hope - the new American fighter who was going to beat Calzaghe. They started radicalising opinion even more...
I fought against "THE ESB ELITE" in the Great War and the Pacquiao war and I am fighting against the Calzaghe haters now...from a Calzaghe hater I have become labelled as a Calzaghe nuthugger. I was called a Pavlik and Taylor hugger, now I am called a Dawson hater...

The BigWigs that run the forum have changed. They used to be the pro-Calzaghe hard-core. Now, they're the anti-Calzaghe hard-core, who currently happen to hug Dawson, the new hope. It's still a war between Brits/Europeans and Americans, but whereas in the past the Brits/Europeans had the upper hand and turned this forum to ****, with the Americans proving the counter-reaction, now it's the Americans who have the upper hand and turn this forum to ****, with the Brits/Europeans who provide the counter-reaction.

You will notice that many of the posters with the biggest post-count will have taken a stance in this War.

Some of us provided a counter-reaction to the ESB ELITE and are now providing a counter-reaction to the Calzaghe haters...most people don't care anymore...they're just fed up and want to leave...

...hopefully with Calzaghe retiring, the them and us mentality will subside, but more than likely it will be carried on and concentrate on Kessler and Dawson, or whatever the next American hope will be...

...get used to it...this is ESB.

First of all Bernard Hopkins schooled him he landed the cleaner punches against Joe and put him on his back coming out for the first round.

Second he was put on his arse from a faded Roy Jones.

Third he cannot punch he slapps.

Mate...if we don't get back on track, is there even any point in staying on this forum? Isn't it a waste of time?

True. I love Calzaghe as you know. But I originally joined this forum to learn about other fighter's and boxing in general. 4 out of every 5 threads seem to revolve around Calzaghe. It's tiresome. The site has already lost KG0208, Brooklyn and I haven't seen Sues2nd post in ages either. You're right, unless it can get back to talking about boxing and not just Calzaghe, then it is a waste of time. Sooner or later, the other quality posters wil leave and the place will be a 100% bitchfest.

Some huge fights coming up, Molitor/Caballero being the one i'm most excited about, yet they barely register.

Nevertheless, i'm waiting for your sequel.:deal

No more sequels from me...I've said my bit and I've done my bit of fighting for ESB too...I'll just ignore everyone that hates from now on...my ignore list is already very long...and just post my analysis when and if I choose...and that's that.:deal
