...how great could he have been?

If he has some of Duran's ferocity, his infighting, and power, and his willing to fight anyone anywhere, he could have been the best ever..truth is I think if you add up all those shortcoming, Duran was much closer to achieving this status than Mayweather was..

Duran only needed speed (in the higher divisions), and a couple inches in height, discipline, in terms of weight control, and perhaps a more varied strategy in some cases. (ie Benitez, especially)

Can you rephrase that? What do you mean by "imitated"?

I think he did fine just being himself.

Trying to copy someone else can be a mistake.

Anyway, if Floyd had been less safety first he may have gotten beaten in some of his big fights.

I'm taking it to mean traits.

Do mean if he gained 30 pounds between fights and quit during the biggest fight of his career?

You should save yourself some time and simply paste and copy this post. I think it makes up about 40% - 50% of your posts whenever there's a Mayweather - Duran thread.

Hell maybe I'll save you the time and start posting it on your behalf...lol

Go ahead, but please don't forget to refer to Duran as "No Mas."

Take on an ATG middleweight? Better than some would expect but inevitably he would lose, but unlike Duran, he wouldn't go the distance

But what traits? His overall fighting style? What would that even look like? I have no idea how Mayweather would do if he abdicated some of his key strengths and fought like a completely different person.

I'm not 100% sure l viewed as taking some of Duran traits and adding them to the ones he already has with subtracting anything, which is likely impossible.

Any chance you can sort your profile settings out so I don't have to see "Sent from my iPhone"? Annoying as hell, that is.

Whoops. What I meant was in the sense of climbing weights and fighting men with clear physical advantages.
