I only mentioned the first DLH/Mayweather fight. Both hardcore and casual fans were calling for that fight. Many fans wanted the first Hatton fight as well. Hatton called out Floyd first, I guess there was no cherry picking there either. In 2005 he tried to make fights with Hatton and Cotto(the other top 140 lbers), neither wanted to fight him. He then went up to 147 to challenge the then undisputed WW champ, Zab Judah(a fight many were calling for). He then fought the ring champ and universally recognised WW champ Baldomir(his 4th choice and another figh many boxing writers and fans were calling for), he then fought DLH(a fight pretty much everyone wanted to see), he then fought Hatton(another fight that the boxing public wanted). Now, the only fight out there for him that everyone wants to see is Cotto. There's still plenty of time for that fight to be made.
So are you saying Calzaghe should be P4P number 1?| You Calzaghe fans amaze me. You should sit back and feel lucky that he even won that fight and glad it was a 43 year old version of Hopkins. Instead you want him to be P4P#1? Crazy.
You misunderstood me. Floyd and Zab had a preliminary agreement to fight eachother before the Baldo fight. All Judah had to do was beat Baldomir. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Floyd had no other viable options, so the fight was made anyway. However, when he challenged Zab, Zab was the undisputed champ.
Going into Zab-Baldomir, Floyd-Zab was easilly the biggest fight in boxing at the time. Nonetheless, Zab's still seen as a real good win for Cotto; and probably will be if Shane gets over him to. Why is it not the case for Floyd?
GOD DAMNIT, I just typed out a long reply and got 'page not found', losing all of the information!atsch
Clearly the thread starter didn't realize that Hopkins was a more diffuclt style to deal with as he said that Calzaghe would completely dominate Hopkins and stop him. And that's why I have a problem.
