How do you see that fight going? I actually always hoped that fight got made. I really did. Even with the fact toney never deserved it. I just wanted to watch Wladimir bust him up and knock his ass OUT. Brutally. And no doubt in my mind Wlad would have.

It would’ve been as fun to watch as the Vitali vs briggs fight :) Though Wlad would’ve become the first to KO toney. Too much hand speed and power. There’s no question in my mind toney would’ve paid for that nasty mouth of his.

How do you think it would’ve went???

As much as I like Toney his style is all wrong for Wlad. He loses a clear UD gets kept at range and picked off with jabs but is able to avoid the right hand at least.

Toney was better against slowish heavyweights that had a low workrate and tried to load up on their punches. Wlad is kind of the opposite of that. He has a good workrate and his superb jab doesn't cost much energy to throw over and over all night long.

Let's be honest: Toney is out-sized by a lot here. The only reason he was at heavyweight is because his burger-gobblin' ways and lust for sticky ribs conspired to blobbify him. Wlad on the other hand came to fight fully trained and looking like a gladiator.

Toney really shouldn't be at heavy. If he trained like he should have trained he'd probably be at 175ish.

I will say this: I just rewatched the Toney / Peter 2 highllights and Toney has a hell of a chin on him. Peter was a mediocre boxer but he had big power and he landed some flush bombs on Toney and couldn't get him out of there.

In my opinion Wladimir would have won on points, Toney had a great defense and an iron jaw, I don't think he would have been defeated inside the distance by Klitschko.
