I don't know if you guys remember, Steward is one my customers at one of my retail stores. he has a cell phone from my store, and he lives next to my Wife's uncle (Who used to be a Ring Side Doctor for Kronk in the 70s and 80s).. My company sponsored the Kronk Fund Raiser last year at the Fisher Building in Detroit last year, and we were out with ES for couple of days. Anyway, i was @ business lunch today, and he was there, he came by, and said hello, and wanted a new phone :yep . So, he sat down with us, and we started chatting. I asked him mainly about Vitali's training camp if he's gonna make it, which he doesn't train him, but, he sees him alot. and he's optimistic he's gonna make it. ES is top class guy, and enjoys talking about Boxing more than us fans. Beleive it or not!!! He was very impressed with Margos stamina and his relentless attack, and said Cotto will be back stronger!!! I forgot to ask him about Klit, as we were talking about phones and us catching up more often, and maybe doing a BBQ over his house :happy as they share the same backyard as my wife's uncle (whom he is a huge boxing fan, hence he was a ring side doctor) Anyway, we chatted for 30 minutes or so!!! Its awesome to have a celebrity and a legend trainer come and say hi to you and recognize you immediately, given the amount of people he always meet and see!!!
Hope you guys pull off that bbq and can hang out more, and continue to do business together. Great opportunity to talk with someone with so much knowledge.
I hope so too!! You just don't beleive the humbleness he has. very down to earth and classy person!!! Nothing but respect! he loves talking boxing! he gets excited talking about it, especially when we talk about non-main stream names!!!
Oh. Yeah, I find ppl in the boxing business to be very down to Earth. & he gets excited when you guys talk about non-mainstream names, that lets you know that he's a real fan.
I wanted to ask him badly about Wlad's future fight! but, didn't want to keep him holding! 30 minutes at our table is golden enough time for me!
I would have talked his ass off,so he can understand my boxing knowledge. Then try to get a job. I tried with Viv Harris, Peter, and Guzman manager. But they all tell me the samething Vegas is the right city to be a promoter  . But hopefully I can get this internship with Top Rank
Yeah, keep tyring. I really wish I could get a job in boxing. It sucks to see guys who know nothing about the sport, but have money, run it into the ground, while guys like us who actually care about it and can probably make it better, can't get a chance to prove ourselves.
I envy you. These are the moments you remember forever. My best boxing moment was meeting Rudy Battle in Korea 19 years ago. I saw him walking down the street and ran back to catch up to him and say hello. He invited to stop by his hotel to chat and grab something to eat. It was cool.
:good , I will try my hardest, but all I can do is pray and have faith. I believe I will make it, because I'm getting to close. Guzman manager said he was suprised I have heard of him and Nate Campbell. He said most people only know Tyson, Jones, Floyd, and Hoya. But HE DID SAY NEXT TIME jOAN FIGHTS OUT HERE HE WILL GIVE ME TICKETS. But they dogged Harris real bad in their. To much to tell
I gotcha. Keep trying. I've sent out emails and all kinds of **** to Gary Shaw. GBP, the Duvas, HBO, etc., but no one responded. I do a lot of music and comic promotions in Korea, but I really want to do boxing. Hopefully for you, perseverance will overcome resistance.
Next time you see Emmanuel ask him about BERNARD MAYES.... Mayes passed away years ago and hadnt been a seriously active boxer since the 70's...but I guarantee you Emmanuel gets very much into a conversation about him, complete with inside stories of him sparring with Tommy, etc. Ask him, you'll see.
