He would have LOW BLOWED the **** outta Jhonny in Rounds 2/3. Good win for Jhonny and a Good Stoppage, Mares was still in La-La Land sitting on his stoll after the fight.:yep

I know, glad Mares lost, never liked the guy after the first Agbeko fight.

Agreed I have been waiting for him to lose. I can admit he's a pretty good boxer, good at different styles, takes on good opposition, but hard for me to root for him... Between low blowing a couple of guys to death, and ODLH hyping him to no end (Ring magazine #5???) it's kind of satisfying to see the train derailed.

I rooted for Gonzalez, but the ref should've given Mares a chance to rise and then stop the fight. He counted to 2 and stopped the fight. Wtf.

Nishioka knocked Gonzalez down with a straight left, and the ref gave every chance to Gonzalez to rise and he did only to have the fight stopped. Great ref.

Yesterday, Mares goes down a second time, and starts and stops his count. He never gave Mares a chance to rise again. What if last nights ref reffed Moore/Durelle?

Good thing the ref stopped it when he did, knowing Jhonny's luck in the past I'm sure he would've found some way to lose spectacularly.

The ref stopped his count and told Abner he didn't like the way his eyes looked. He probably felt he was concussed. The fact that he began to count in the first place, showed that he was going to give him a chance to continue, until he saw signs that suggested he shouldn't.
