More important than improving your punching technique, putting punches together with confidence and trying to stop the other guy is controlling your distance.
You were, for the most part, right in mid. range allowing for both to be able to trade and land. You don't want that.
Sure, your experience, technique or natural abilities may give you the upper hand, but you also give the opportunity for your opponent to land his. Even if he's not a great counter-puncher or by accident.
Your style would seem to benefit more from a tighter/compact stance and approach with little distance in between. Close that distance with whatever you feel more comfortable with. High guard, bobbing-weaving, feinting.
He must have felt your punch because not so long after the bell, he was reacting to everything you did. You should've walked him down and used short punches downstairs more frequently.
    Good stuff though. :good
Has anyone given you **** because of your name? lol :!:

Your always going to have those people who don't look that great but give you problems- I always think of boxing as two set of attributes; those you can see (fundamentals) and those you can't see (timing, ring craft etc etc) a lot of these guys who have poor technique get by because they are good in other non obvious area's. They'll never really go as far as a well schooled fighter with similar abilities.

You look tidy though- a little obvious with the big shots as I think others have said you need to hide them more and set them up better. Also don't fall in love with power- just know its there and work away - your stoppage ratio is about to go right down as you step up in class.

Nice one mate you look a LOT better in there than the last fight I saw. I think I'm in a fairly similar position I had a fight on sat and although I won, quite clearly according to most, I felt like I was fighting so much worse than I could have. I think it was nerves and like many have said you have to let the knockout come and not load up, hide the big punches with the light ones.

Anyway you've got enough, better advice in this thread so I'll just say good luck and keep it going mate.

edit: BACK TO THE BODDDYYYYY- Maybe try throw more body shots especially against a guy running around a lot, take his body then take his head. Try add a punch after that big left hand you let it land then stand back and listen to everyone go "OOooh" rather than capitalising. You can see your nerves/excitement when he starts clowning around.

I just hate fighting those jitter bugs! it is so odd! I just need to have more confidence in my abilities. I was broken down all my life, and sometimes I think in my head, "You aren't nothing in life and never will be". I am overcoming this anxiety with praying and meditating, but I know I need to just believe in my self and I can achieve what I set out. You are very right about the body, I was headhunting for sure. Thank you for the tips. I just love the fight game, and with the age of open amateurs increase until 40, I can box for ATLEAST the next 10 years which is pretty awesome. I started late in the game only 2 years ago, and I have been deployed to Afghanistan for a good portion of that time, and took roughly 6 months off from August to recently, because I let my drinking get to me. I am focused now and ready to do big things in boxing!:D I appreciate all you guys i really do.

I like to look my opponent in the eyes out of respect and challenge.
