Had Roy Jones formally won the gold medal? Would it make a huge impact as a pro?

Well, of course it's a well known incident that Roy was robbed of that gold medal. And people do recognize him as the true winner.

But had it been a formal win, like he did get the decision and he was awarded the gold medal. How differently would Roy's pro career had been?

Roy's management (or perhaps mismanagement) and uncompromising nature to promoters was part of him not being even bigger than he was.

If he just signed with DKP he'd have been the PPV Tyson of the lower weights, all the big fights rolled out GMAN, Benn and maybe Tito. Ofcourse he wouldn't keep so much of his money

He would've fought Dariusz. In Germany.

    Might have hurt him, honestly.

That stuck in Roy's craw BIGTIME. As in, it still bothers him. One of those seminal life events that gives you the motivation to kill yourself for greatness.

He might not have become the fighter he became without that anger.
