Had Ward went up to 175, it would have been as much of a disadvantage as Dawson 168

He was never the same fighter afterwards because he got his prime beat out of him like Chavez vs Taylor.

    That's what Ward did. :nod

It was not because of the weight.:rofl

Ward at less than 95% loses to Kovalev, good thing you admitted it :smooch

He would win but I want to see it at 100% vs 100%.

Yeah, and Ward suddenly becoming a power puncher had nothing at all to do with Dawson being drained and weakned.

This win will always be tainted and meanignless, most people even choose to ignore this fight when listing Ward's best wins.

    :rofl

Actually Dawson is one of his best wins, and any boxing fan knows this.

You just refuse to acknowledge greatness!!!

Dawson was the one who called him out and he was a top 10 p4p fighter when Ward dispatched of him easily.

He rose to #2 p4p status after he beat Dawson. :hi:

No, he rose to #2 p4p after beating Froch and winning the S6, when people list Ward's best wins invariably two are mentioned, Froch and Kessler, Dawson is ignored by most.

Other than it looking nice on BoxRec, knowledgeable fans will never acknowledge this victory.

Go revisit it, he reached #2 after he beat Dawson, not Froch. He reached #4-5 when he beat Froch. :hi:

This is one of the best wins, actually. So your theory is wrong, very wrong.

I give him very very high marks and so does everyone else (Who isn't a Ward-hater :deal)

I bet you would give Dawson very high marks if it was at 75 and he won.|

Yes, closer for both men. I never said Ward would be 100% @ 72, it'd just make the difference closer :nod

I want to see fair fights. That's what I want to see!!! :yep

Why not? Both guys meet in the middle to make it more fair like you just acknowledged with Kovalev-Ward!!!

Sure I would, because it's one thing to fight a drained opponent and another to fight a slight smaller opponent who's moved up, the former is worse.

However, I wouldn't give Dawson the same credit as someone who beat Ward at his prime weight which is 168.
