The Marvelous one versus these four gifted fighters. McCallum and Kalambay don't get enough attention around these parts, and middleweight Toney doesn't either. Nunn gets some here and there.

Let's take the Hagler from '82 or '83.

Who is the most likely to win over Hagler? Does he beat all four or is this a murderer's row where Hagler is likely to pick up one or more loss? Who would be the least likely to beat Hagler?

All bouts are scheduled for 15 rounds.

He could potentially lose all 4 prime for prime.

Kalambay or McCallum I think is most likely to beat him.

Nunn makes all kinds of mistake but is huge and a great athlete so probably beats Hagler to the punch.

The Toney fight I see as similar to Duran, except Toney does better but it'd be really close.

I think McCallum has a great chance here as does Toney. I could see a close points victory for McCallum.

He beats all but Toney. Toney would give him a very good spanking.

I was thinking about this the other day when I watched the first Toney - McCallum fight. They were quality fighters. It's hard to pick against Hagler in his prime but out of the four of them I wouldn't be surprised if someone could pull off a surprise.

McCallum has the best shot ... Marvin was too good for Kalamby and Nunn and too busy for Toney .. McCallum might have the game to make it the most difficult and Marvin would have to be at his best ...

Marvelous Marv held the title for 8 years and was the longest reigning undisputed MW in modern history. While the opponents listed above were good boxers and highly worthy opponents, MM reigns supreme as MW. He would have defeated all of them at that weight category.

Great matchups damn. Remember Hagler already went through the seventies murderers row and was top dog he beat everyone that deserved a shot. All 4 fghters could have been competitive in any era to include Haglers at middleweight I don't see Toney beating him but I see McCallum doing very well but losing the decision Hagler was extremely gifted and the most well rounded fighter of his time. There was not one particular skill of Haglers that stood out above the others he simply did everything good not overly slick or powerful just solid. I see Hagler eeking out ahead of the group in tough fights the guy who gives him the most trouble is Nunn. Had Nunn stayed away from drugs and in the gym he would have been an ATG and would have been RJJ's most competitive fight at 160. He tries to fight Hagler he is KO'd he boxes he wins.

Haggler was such a bum it's not funny

    Benn
    Eubank
    Collins
    Calzaghe
    Nunn
    Toney
    Bhop
    Roy jones
    G-man

All these guys probably beat straggler

Haggler was fortunate to be born when he was

In the 90s he'd be nothing

I'll concede benn and g-man might have punched themselves out against hagglers big dumb head

Of course haggler built up his iron chin rep against midgets anyway

82 version of Hagler has legs and threw darts in there. Far cry from the guy fighting Mugabi and Leonard. Against the Sugar Man, Marvin looked like a guy with about 400,000 miles on the odemeter legs and reflexes wise. Of course, that was something Leonard and dundee anticipated.

82 Marvin is a whole different ballgame.

Marvin would probably beat them all,but after tough fights. The one with McCallum would be very close.

You obviously know nothing about boxing if that is your honest opinion!! Please comment on subjects you actually understand.
Hagler was one of the most complete fighters that ever laced on a pair of gloves.
The Hagler of the late 70's and early 80's was one of the greatest fighters ever as anyone with an ounce of knowledge of the sport understands.
