It does look like the YouTube change went through, I think, as the time reduced from 41:24 to 41:23. I wish I could tell you which fights the commentators said that, but all I can say is that at some point during at least 2 different broadcasts, both of his 76 losses in Philly were described as "disputed" or "controversial". I'm thinking they were either mistaken, or a lot of times I think commentators get briefed on certain narratives, and likewise it's plausible to believe that Hagler's people may have wanted to encourage that outlook during a time when they were hoping to secure him a title fight. But it's possible the broadcasting team just got confused or made a mistake. I wish I could watch it. There are probably almost a dozen 70s Hagler fights I wish I could watch, but I'm guessing likely do not exist on film anywhere. But I especially do wish I could see the first Monroe fight, for many of the same reasons you mentioned.
I don't doubt any of that for a second Rummy. I'd say it was a mistake maybe. I'd be keen to see the fights you are talking about to say the least!!!
Great stuff Rummy. You must put hours into these videos and they’re always quality. The poster on here who once compared you to Bert Sugar (nothing wrong with Bert either, he was what he was and did more good than bad ) is a blow hard, worthless nobody.
