Hagler - Duran Scorecard

I'm just genuinely curious which specific rounds you gave him to have SRL come out the winner. Nothing more nothing less really. I don't get why you include the line of some had SRL winning, when in reality, most had him losing. Which is precisely why I'd like to know which rounds you have to SRL, if for nothing else, to get a glimpse into the way you score fights. You were very adamant that SRL won, and thus I thought it would be an easy task to tell me which rounds you gave him. However, that doesn't appear to be the case at all. It more seems like you haven't watch the fight in ages, not really sure SRL actually won the fight yourself, and thus you don't want to be called out on your verdict by producing reasoning behind your verdict. Maybe I'm wrong, but it certainly seems that way with how much you've danced around the subject.

 

You are mistaken. I was never "very adamant" that SRL won. I've always indicated that it was a very, very close fight with multiple rounds that could have gone either way. I think that you are probably so used to the usual "Duran beat him from pillar to post and owned him!!!" hyperbole that my modest claim seemed shocking to you. You are the one who was adamant and made the rather aggressive claim that no sensible person could have the fight within less than 3 rounds, iirc.

I haven't seen the entire fight in a little while and wish that I had taken better notes on it. I'm sort of on a mission to catch up on other fights that I've never seen at the moment, but I will gladly rewatch the fight and post my scores (and try to explain them) when I get a chance.

 

I doubt think the fight was all that hard to score especially in the first 5-6 rounds, after that it became harder to score, but if one wanted to describe that fight, I would say it was a close but clear win for Duran. Very very close, doesn't describe what transpired even SRL said as much as he certainly has never questioned the result of the first fight, rather he was determined to win the rematch.

He himself said that after getting hit with that left hook in the 2nd he was in a fog for the next 3 rounds, just trying to survive.

Now I know you keep questions SRL's own account of what transpired but that's really just nonsense. It seems more likely that for whatever reason you just don't want to give Duran the prop's he deserves.

The only reason it was a relatively close fight was because Leonard came on in the mid to late rounds and Duran slowed down a little, but the first 5 rounds weren't particularly close at all.

 

I troll Foxy because for months he trolled me and others putting me and others down and I got sick of reading it over a long period of time,,,then I reached a specific point and felt like I had had enough and for a few months now if I come across his posts I will give back to him what I have read him give to way too many on this forum.

I will do my best to stop trolling on Foxy for the good of the forum as best I can. However, if I am reading a thread and I come across Foxy telling some dude that he is SUBHUMAN and a waste of life and the reason why the human race is so putrid I cant promise I wont jump in and post to him while supporting others against his hatred of others boxers as well as posters. The guy is a bully that claims he is being abused and threatened by others when it is him who started abusing and threatening by me. When in truth that's what he does to others on this forum and has done for some time. I didn't threaten him, but he claims I did THREATEN him. I tell him that if he talked like he does on here to people in PERSON they would smack him out, TRUST ME, they would smack him out, Foxy calls people SUBHUMAN, he claims others as deserving to die. He told me I deserve to be cleaning the end of his co-ck, that's just some of what the guy says. This has gone on for months. Foxy in truth would not get away with such attacks and insults in public. Forget me, I am telling you I would BET money that if Foxy went out in public and said the stuff he says on here to others FACE to FACE that Foxy would pretty soon get smacked out. Are you claiming different? Seriously, he would get smacked out sooner or later, the guy talks hatred of SUBHUMANs that deserve to DIE. I left Foxy alone for sometime but when he started misquoting me and trolling me with those misquotes over a period of days refusing to stop I began trolling him back.

I will do my best to stop trolling Foxy but I cant promise. We both got banned a month or so ago and as soon as we came back he started trolling me again, I had left him alone out of respect for ESB banning me and he wanted to continue so i continued with him,,,, so try not to jump to conclusions when reading only a few posts, the full truth is always more detailed then at first appears my friend.

I guess my point is I don't feel the mods do anything about guys like Foxy, when they could simply give them warnings to help keep them from attacking others for stupid reasons,,,, Foxy attacked me several times as subhuman for claiming Tyson was in my top 10, lmao, the guy is off the charts, meanwhile I was not trolling Foxy at this point, the guy just comes out of nowhere into peoples posts and insults them with insults claiming that I must be a ****** because Tyson is a ****** and I like Tyson. Then he will simply refuse to stop. Its too far to be making such accusations about other posters on such a regular basis from Foxy imo. Put it this way, I was willing to get myself banned already because that's how much he annoyed me over a fairly long chunk of time.

 

How did you score them? Did you think that they were all indisputably, undeniably Duran rounds?

Yeah I don't get the back story to your history but Foxy has been having over the top wars with posters for a while now.

Maybe just leave him alone and engage with posters who are worth your while and will engage in a civilized manner instead of stooping to the idiocy of Foxy.

Fancy threatening to knee cap someone or remove their teeth with pliers over a conversation about boxing? Absolutely laughable in its pure stupidity and the actions of a social simpleton.

 

Duran knew he could not get into a war with Hagler so he did his best to stay at distance, slow the pace and lead Marvin into his lead right hand. This is the punch that bloodied/closed his eye and made the bout close into the home stretch. It was not typical of an in shape Duran to fade into the late rounds but he did and Hagler overwhelmed him in the last two to gain the victory. This bout was a 9-6 type fight in rounds. Close up until the end.

 

Hagler won a razor thin decision in my book. nicking the final round when Duran thought he had done enough. Hagler was "Beaten up" at the final bell. Duran shouted over as they awaited the judges decision. "You aint no marvelous" ha ha. Duran was correct. Hagler's claim to fame is beating Hearns, when Hearns broke his famous right-hand in the opening round. Sugar Ray Leonard was coming off a 3yr lay off and whooped Hagler's ass with ease.

 

Hagler was an ATG fighter regardless of the Hearns fight. Duran was another ATG and it's no crime to have a tough fight with another ATG....fact is Hagler won the fight. SRL fought an amazing fight when he fought Hagler. Just outspend him most of the entire 12 rounds. Hagler looked in slow motion by comparison.

I didn't think I would ever see the day where I would be in agreement with you, but there are just too many Hagler fanboys / Duran haters, or plain fools ( with regards to scoring fights ) for it to be a coincidence in this thread for my liking.

I have no problem with Marvin getting the decision he rightly deserved, but I find it difficult to understand how anyone other than Ray Charles or Stevie Wonder could think it was 10 - 5, or 11 - 4 Hagler. These people simply DO NOT know what the fuk they are looking at.
