Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the SMW division wasn't really a thing until the mid-80s, when Hagler retired.

I guess he could've moved up to 175, but it's a bigger step as far as weight goes.

If you ask GGGstans the MW is the most prestgious division right now.

FFS they are excited about GGG fighting Eubanks jr who barely has over 20 fights and all against complete nobodies. :patsch:lol:

I think we can all agree that Golovkin would close the distance and catch Lara easily. Whereas it was a different stylistic fight for Fury-Klitschko because they are both very tall. Cunningham is much shorter than either of them and Fury stepped on the inside.

    Anyway, yeah Lara gets smoked.

No, we cannot all on agree on that CONSIDERING Golovkin has NEVER fought anyone with Lara's skill set.

GGG is like Edwin Valero. Looks like a monster against **** opposition.

Wlad also fought like a terrified child. GGG would absolutely not come in to a Lara fight with the same mindset. If Golovkin can't secure BJS, or another legit MW, he might as well shut Lara up now and get it over with.

Amazing that the Pimp seems to think Tszyu is nothing special yet his man crush Floyd Joy avoided him during Joys awful run in the 140 division.

GGG may win , but he also may not get the KO. He may also be susceptible to cuts and swelling by sharp 1-2s by Lara.

GGG is wide open when he starts swinging those round houses. There's good reason k2 have no interest in Lara whatsoever.

Its a disgrace imo. Especially after expressing interest in a fight with Kell Brook.

But Hearn allegedly contacted Loeffer, something so far Lara's management have yet to do.

SMW was created in 1960's I think, but it probably wasn't any where near as popular as the MW division

If you knew anything about boxing you would understand that your question is stupid. First, hagler was a small middleweight, second, all of the big fights to be had by him were against guys at middle and welter. Unlike ggg who is a large mw and all of his potentially good fights would obviously be above 160. If the situations were reversed hagler probably would have moved up to chase the big money fights unlike ggg who is happy knocking out tomatoe cans who obviously can't handle his size and strength.

from the quick search I just did it seems like a fringe belt had the division in the 60s, a few state commissions but none of the major sanctioning bodies recognized the division or had their own until the mid/late 80s.

3g can stay at mw if he wants.

but a move to smw is not as big a leap as a leap to LHW that faced haggler (and SMW was tiotal shyte in the 80s and shyte in the 90s so there was little appeal for serious boxers to go there).

It was a fake division until the late 80s/ early 90s as far as most people are concerned
