A different time line for The marvelous one, how's it go for him?
Challengers Gene Fullmer for the NBA belt first.
    Then defend against..
    Carmen Basilio
    Former champ Robinson
    Paul Pender
    Terry Downes
    Dick Tiger
    Joey Giardello
    Emile Griffith
    Robin Carter
    Nino Benvenuti
    Don Fulmer
    And finally.. Carlos Monzon.
Could Marvin, going along in real time get successfully thru to Monzon??

I feel he`d beat all of them except Monzon, Hagler was a killer who was better than any middle in the 60`s, Benvenuti might have been a problemfor Marvin by the time he met him, but Carter was just like Mugabi.

Yep, I can see him making it all the way through but he'd struggle by the time he met Nino, he'd be ageing by then. Monzon a young man v Marv a older champ?
    No way Hagler beats him.

Hagler would be on the back foot boxing...as he did vs Bennie Briscoe...vs the original iron man Dlck Tiger...Griffith (title winning 1966 version) would be a challenge he never had to encounter before,....Giardello (Dec.'63 version)...same thing....Benvenuti I must think about first...and Monzon was not champion till Nov 1970.

I n reply to Monzon not champ till 1970, we could have Hagler takin on Fulmer in 1961, he was still champ then, maybe Monzon challenge in about 1969 here? Tweaking the time frame a little but feasible.

I think Robinson was too past it by the 60's. Hagler would emerge as the best of that bunch. By the time Monzon come along Hagler would have been badly faded and ready to depart.
