Hagler-Leonard: How was the fight seen by the media?

    I've heard it be said by some that half the media had Hagler winning, whilst others claim more had Leonard winning.

    I thought it'd be an idea to collate all the information we know as to the media's reaction to the fight, to see where the consensus lies.


    Sorry to revive a played-out topic by the way, but the matter interests me.

    After further research McIlvanney was working for the Sunday Times when he covered the Hagler-Leonard fight, and not the Observer as I mentioned above. If you see Conteh's post above, "The Times" is the same journal. I'm pretty sure.

    So its 115-113 Hagler.

    Still after over 21 years ago the debate goes on, too the fight didn't happen sooner

    I don't think I can remember a fight with so diverse a range of scorecards. Would have loved to have seen the guys from the Associated Press have a discussion with the guys from KO Magazine.
